This is the breathtaking moment when an 18-month-old baby boy was pulled from a 500-foot pit after falling into it while playing nearby.

The boy, identified as Shivan Badhel, was the focus of an army rescue mission that lasted 45 minutes on June 7 in the village of Dudapur, Dhrangadhra Taluka, Surendranagar district of Gujarat, western India.

Suddenly a head pops up and the rescue team quickly intervenes to pull the child out.

As the baby emerges from the hole, the crowd can be seen clapping and cheering, before the baby is escorted into an ambulance by two members of the military.
