Former President Bill Clinton and his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, appeared to chuckle as Donald Trump delivered his inauguration speech.
Trump was sworn in as the 47th president of the United States in the Capitol Rotunda on Monday morning, surrounded by a crowd of tech titans and media moguls.
During his inaugural address, the president pledged to sign about 200 executive orders in a major crackdown on the first day of his second term.
One of his more interesting proposals is to rename or reinstate previous titles of landmarks and bodies of water bordering the US, including the new “Gulf of America.”
“Today I will sign a series of historic executive orders,” Trump said. “With these actions, we will begin America's full recovery and the common sense revolution – it's all about common sense.
“America will regain its rightful place as the greatest, most powerful, and most respected nation on earth, inspiring the awe and admiration of the entire world.
“In a short time we will change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.”
His comments drew laughter from his former political rival, Hillary Clinton, and a grin from her former president husband.

Donald Trump promised to change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America
Many people on social media agreed that the name change is funny and said they laughed too.
'Good for her! What he said was funny. Remarkably stupid, but funny,” said one.
“Hillary Clinton is the one and only who bursts out laughing across the Gulf,” said another.
'I'm trying to find out why everyone isn't smiling. This is a policy change of the third degree,” a third person said.
Trump sent shock waves earlier this month when he proposed renaming the Gulf of Mexico during a press conference at Mar-a-Lago.
“We will change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, which has a beautiful ring to it,” Trump told reporters in Florida.
'That covers a large area. The Gulf of America. What a beautiful name. It is appropriate,” he emphasized.
This angered Mexican politicians, including their president.
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum responded to Trump's plan by unveiling a map last week dating to the 17th century that showed an early designation of North America with the title “America Mexicana” in large letters.
“Mexican America, that sounds fun, doesn't it?” She said sarcastically, pointing to a huge image of the old map behind her. “He was talking about the name, we're talking about the name too.”
“Even if you go right or left, the idea is quite funny,” a fourth person added.
Trump's other orders cover a wide range of issues, from immigration policy to gender identity issues and even deregulating the allowable flow of water from showerheads.
Ten of Trump's executive orders on day one concern the southern border and the illegal immigration crisis.
He declared a national emergency at the southern border, underscoring the importance of immigration policy for Trump's second term.
“All illegal entry will cease immediately and we will be the process of returning millions and millions of criminal aliens to the places they came from,” Trump said.
Trump is also ending catch-and-release, a policy that allows illegal border crossers seeking asylum to be detained and then released into the country pending a court date.

He reinstates the Remain in Mexico policy, which leaves illegal border hoppers waiting in the last country they came from, usually Mexico, while they wait for a court date to make their asylum claims.
And Trump is demanding that his promised and famous southern border wall finally be completed.
Trump labels cartels as terrorist organizations, which will change the way they are treated when it comes to foreign affairs and defense regarding attacks by these cartel members.
