A teenage girl who died with a male friend at a Queensland waterfall has been identified as new details emerge about the tragedy.
Honor Ward, 17, and Beau Liddell, also 17, tragically died at Wappa Falls, on Queensland's Sunshine Coast, about 2.30pm on Sunday.
Honor fell from the top of the waterfall into the raging torrent below and when she failed to resurface, Beau jumped into the water to help her.
A search and rescue operation found Honor's body at about 3:30 PM and divers found Beau's body at about 7:30 PM.
The deaths have left the close-knit Noosa community in turmoil, with a local resident revealing the pair were part of a trio of close friends who were visiting the nature reserve together when tragedy struck.
“They were best friends, all three of them,” the family friend said.
'I really feel for the third friend who will be left behind and will witness this. She needs all the support she can get from our community.
'Rest in peace [Honor and Beau]. You will be missed incredibly.”

Honor's family, who are originally from Britain, migrated to Noosa more than a decade ago.
One of four children in the Trewantin family, Beau was affectionately known to friends as 'Yokes' – a nickname he used for his creative pursuits as a graffiti artist.
Tributes have poured in for the two teenagers online, with devastated loved ones saying the pair will be 'forever missed'.
“My beautiful nephew, I love you sweet girl,” said Honor's niece Lorah.
“To the boy who tried to save her, you are a hero. This is incredibly tragic.”
One of Honor's friends said she was in shock and couldn't describe how she felt.
'I will miss you forever. A part of my heart will forever be yours,” she said.
“I wish I could tell you everything I feel, or just say everything.

“I wish someone could say one more thing to you.”
Beau's older sister Skye said he had “the most caring and kind heart.”
“I miss you so much, little brother,” she said.
'I'm so proud of you. I love you to the moon and back, forever and ever.”
A friend said they would 'always' be with Beau.
“I love you so much, I miss you,” they said.
'Always the brave, but sometimes too brave.'
In his latest social media post on Saturday, Beau revealed he had tried to turn his life around and had already been sober for a week.

Locals have reported online that the waterfall was said to have been a 'flood' this weekend following recent rainfall in the area.
“It should be closed after all the rain we've had so dangerously,” said one.
Wappa Falls remains closed due to a police investigation.
Reports on the deaths will be prepared for the coroner.
