It may have been Donald Trump's big day, but his grandchildren stole the show.

The 78-year-old took the oath of Office Washington DC on Monday and vowed to bring about a 'Golden Age' in the United States as he was sworn in as president for the second time.

However, his grandchildren, Joseph, ten, and Theodore, eight, were crowd favorites after being put to sleep during a church service at St. John's Church before the swearing-in ceremony.

Ivanka, 43, sat between her sons — whom she shares with husband Jared Kushner, 44 — but the two boys struggled to keep their eyes open during the service.

In one fell swoop, Ivanka's eldest son leaned against her and seemed to be fast asleep, while his brother was also about to fall asleep.

In the next moment, the boys looked boldly up at their mother, who then looked proudly at her father.

President Trump sat nearby with his wife, Melania Trump, and their 18-year-old son Barron.

On Sunday, Eric and Lara Trump's young children, Luke, seven, and Carolina, five, became instant crowd favorites after saying the Pledge of Allegiance on stage as their parents held them near the stage.

The adorable duo was seen walking into church service with their parents this morning.

Carolina wore ruby slippers, white ruffled socks and a navy blue button-up coat as she held a blue fan and entered the church with her father.

Luke wore navy blue pants and Nike sneakers and carried a stuffed animal.

President Trump has a total of ten grandchildren and will soon welcome another, with daughter Tiffany Trump announcing her pregnancy last year.

Ivanka looked chic in a deep forest green ensemble earlier today as her father prepared for his second presidential term.

Despite her role in her father's government the last time he was in power, Ivanka will not take on the same responsibilities. She says she wants to be his emotional support this time.

Instead, she hopes to simply be her father's emotional support during this presidential cycle.

“I hate politics,” she told The Skinny Confidential podcast last week. “I've been through years of craziness.”

“It's the loneliest position in the world, the sheer magnitude of the decisions you make every day, how transactional everyone is with you,” she added.

However, Ivanka speaks to her father almost every day and is likely to be an influence behind the scenes even without a formal title.

'I'm most looking forward to standing up for him as a daughter and being there for him, to take his mind off things and watch a movie with him or watch a sports match, to know that he can be with me and be himself, and just relax.”

Ivanka was not involved in her father's 2024 presidential campaign, which was in stark contrast to the 2020 race, where she was a regular at his rallies.

The devoted mother said the main reason she won't return to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue is her children.

'The main reason I don't work anymore is because I know the costs. And it's a price I don't want my children to bear,” she said.

“My main goals were just like, to be the best mom,” she said.

“Every time I had to miss something, the moment I leave the White House, I thought, 'I'm never going to let this happen again.'
