Parents are furious after a play park was ordered to be demolished following just one noise complaint.
The playground in Hailey Park, Cardiff, is a popular place for young people to socialize and run around.
There are slides, climbing frames, swings and two football goals that will also be included upon approval of the order.
Locals fear that young people could become bored without the space and that this could lead to an increase in anti-social behaviour.
Mum-of-two Pam French said: 'At the end of the day we live opposite a park – what do people expect?'
Another person who lives opposite the area said: 'I would be very disappointed if that happened because it is important that children have places to play.
'There is some noise, but it doesn't bother us at all.'

A third resident said: 'We never heard any noise. Me and my husband both work shifts, so we sleep during the day and it never wakes us up.
'I really enjoy walking by and seeing children being children.'
The decision to close the play area was taken after a local resident complained to the ombudsman about the Cardiff Council park.
Councilor for Culture, Sport and Parks Jennifer Burke said: “I am deeply disappointed and frustrated by the ombudsman's decision.
'I believe the needs of the wider community are not sufficiently taken into account, ensuring local children and young people have access to safe, free spaces to play.'
Councilor Burke said she has instructed officers to begin the appeals process and look at alternatives.
She said: “My priority is to find a solution that balances the needs of all residents and I will continue to strongly advocate for the rights of children and young people.
'Facilities like these are essential for children and young people to play, socialize and stay active – especially at a time when we need to encourage healthy lifestyles and outdoor play.'
A spokesperson for Cardiff Council said: 'Cardiff Council has received notice from the Ombudsman that a complaint relating to the multi-use games area (MUGA) at Hailey Park has been upheld.

'The municipality absolutely disagrees with this decision and is investigating the options for appealing.
“In addition, the council is exploring options to limit the potential loss of the MUGA at Hailey Park should the appeal process be unsuccessful.”
A spokesperson for the Welsh Public Services Ombudsman said the noise had a significant effect on the complainant's life.
The ombudsman decided to handle the complaint by asking the municipality to 'take action to ensure that the legal nuisance decreases'.
