The world woke up Tuesday to headlines dominated by Donald Trump's return to office, underscoring global concerns about tariffs, global conflict and the future of America's foreign alliances.

The Italian daily La Repubblica published 'Trump 2: The Revenge' and expanded that 'the emperor of the future is back' with the promise of a new golden age for America.

The German tabloid Bild went for 'the signature that changes the world', tightening the series of executive orders issued 'before the eyes of the world' as the 47th president.

Seventy-eight orders from the previous administration were rescinded overnight, and Trump wasted no time in withdrawing the US from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Paris Climate Agreement.

Spain's La Vanguardia quoted Trump as saying that “America's golden age begins now” after he took his oath of office and delivered his second inaugural address.

Outlets in Ukraine and Greenland, aware of the weight a Trump presidency carries on the future of their own territories, noted this lack of attention, while Russian media hinted at the prospect of “dialogue” with Putin about the war.

In Madrid, Spain's ABC described Trump's “new world” and signed a “battery” of decrees for the “rebirth” of the United States.

The president quickly pardoned approximately 1,500 supporters charged in connection with the Jan. 6, 2021, storming of the Capitol.

He also revoked Biden-era policies that banned drilling in the Arctic and withdrew the U.S. from the Paris climate accord, aiming to curb global temperature rise.

El Pais, also in Spain but with a large readership in Latin America, led its reporting with “Trump Unchained.”

“The President of the United States takes control and adopts [his] first measures.'

The Portuguese media took a stricter line. Jornal de Noticias added a photo of a triumphant Trump with the caption “America against the world.”

In Denmark – amid discussion about Trump's comments on the US takeover of Greenland – Ekstra Bladet described Trump's 'thunder speech', commenting on the fact that the autonomous region was not yet 'off the hook'.
