Elon Musk has unveiled the Department of Government Efficiency's first job since Donald Trump returned to the Oval Office.
“It's starting,” the tech billionaire wrote alongside a post on the department's official X account.
The department has begun removing the website of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management's Chief Diversity Officers Executive Council.
President Trump has been very vocal about his intention to dismantle diversity, equity and inclusion offices and roles within the federal government, describing them as “Marxist.”
“I will immediately end all Marxist diversity, equity and inclusion policies throughout the federal government,” Trump said in December.
Now Musk is ensuring Trump's vision is implemented at the highest level, with the removal of the executive council's website.
Just yesterday, the website described its services as the “key interagency forum for implementing and supporting a national strategy for DEIA across the federal government.”
But Musk's call to wipe down the workforce platform's website indicates the entire department will be closed — or already has been.

The DOGE X account described the development as “progress.”
Musk's DOGE has been tasked with reducing government spending and improving productivity within public services.
He claims it could save $1 trillion, but that number has already been reduced from the initial $2 trillion he recently promised.
Trump and Musk's supporters immediately began celebrating the quick action, describing January 20 as “the day DEI died.”
Others implore Musk to indicate “how much money will be saved with each action.”

The announcement comes just hours after a coalition of veterans, public health professionals, teachers, consumer advocates and watchdog groups filed a legal challenge in federal court against DOGE.
The lawsuit was filed shortly after Trump was sworn in Monday afternoon.
It seeks an injunction against DOGE under the Federal Advisory Committee Act, alleging that Trump is running the group without complying with federal transparency laws.
The lawsuit demands that the activities of private committees be made public.
Musk was named head of DOGE alongside former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, but on Monday it was revealed that Ramaswamy will no longer serve in the non-governmental organization.
Ramaswamy has announced plans to run for governor of Ohio.
“Vivek Ramaswamy played a critical role in the creation of DOGE,” spokesperson Anna Kelly said in a statement.
“He plans to run for elected office soon, which will require him to stay out of DOGE, based on the structure we announced today.

Trump launched a scathing attack on the Truth Social division on Thursday evening, demanding that the FBI “preserve and preserve all records, documents and information regarding the now closing DEI office.”
An FBI spokesperson told DailyMail.com earlier on Thursday that steps to close the office began weeks ago.
The closure of the DEI office just before the swearing-in signals that the FBI expects reforms from the new administration when MAGA diehard Kash Patel is expected to take over.
But Trump said the office “should never have been opened and, if it was, should have been closed long ago.”
