The FDA advised customers who believe they have purchased recalled products to look for directions on how to receive a refund.
Customers who have not used the recalled product can, in most cases, receive a full refund from the store where they purchased it.
The FDA also advised buyers not to give the recalled product to other people or animals.
Customers who have placed the snack product on other surfaces may consider cleaning the items before reusing them.
According to the FDA, utensils that have come into contact with the contaminated food should be disinfected with one tablespoon of chlorine bleach to one liter of hot water.
After sanitization is complete, the FDA suggests that washing machines dry the utensils with a clean cloth or unused paper towel.
The organization recommended that customers wash their hands with soap and warm water after completing these steps.
According to MedlinePlus, following these steps would reduce the risk of consumers developing health problems as a result of the recall.
