A woman found beaten to death in her flat has been pictured for the first time as police hunt for the killer who was 'known to her' and is still at large.
Marianne Kilonzi, 43, who worked as a banker for Citi, was found at her home in Woolwich, south-east London, at around 5.25pm ​​on Friday afternoon after police received calls from people concerned for her welfare.
Detective Chief Inspector Suzanne Soren, from Specialist Crime South, who is leading the investigation, said: “This is a tragic crime and our thoughts at this incredibly difficult time are with Marianne's loved ones and colleagues.
'We are in contact with her family, who are supported by specialist colleagues.
'I know this is a worrying time for the wider community and I would like to reassure the public that whilst we are in the early stages of this investigation, we believe the suspect was known to Marianne and that there is no greater risk to the public consists.
'This is a rapid investigation and I would appeal to anyone with information to come forward. Call 101 quoting CAD 5231/17jan or to report anonymously contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.'
The formal identification has now taken place.
