A 14-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 12-year-old boy was stabbed to death near a primary school.
The tragic youngster was attacked near Scribers Lane in Hall Green, Birmingham, at around 3.15pm yesterday.
The boy was taken to hospital, but unfortunately died later. West Midlands Police are asking witnesses to provide information.
His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
Detective Inspector Joe Davenport, from the Major Crime Unit, said: 'We are urgently reviewing CCTV footage and speaking to witnesses as we try to understand what happened and why, and who was responsible.
'If you were in the area at the time and saw what happened, or believe you captured part of the event on a dashcam or mobile phone, it is vital that you make contact as soon as possible.'
