A child and an adult were reportedly killed in a knife attack in Germany, while several others were injured, local media reported.
The violent attack took place in a park in the Bavarian city of Aschaffenburg at around 11:45 a.m. local time, according to police.
Three adults and a child were attacked, BILD reports, with two of the victims succumbing to their injuries.
Police confirmed that two people were killed, while two others were seriously injured in the attack and are now being treated in hospital.
A man was arrested at the scene and is in custody, police said, adding that there are no other suspects.
An eyewitness told the Main-Echo newspaper that the man was taken away 'in a headlock'.
The motive for the attack remains unclear and police have asked people to refrain from speculation.
There is no further danger to the public, a police spokesperson said.

Detectives previously said two people had been provisionally arrested.
They later shared an update that the second person was a witness and was being questioned.
A large area around Schöntal Park was cordoned off, police said, and train traffic in the area was temporarily suspended.
The suspect allegedly tried to escape by running across nearby railway lines, German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reported.
In November, police classified parts of the city park as a “dangerous area” due to an increase in “drug-related crimes”, including reportedly theft and assault.
There are said to be regular patrols in the area, which may be why the suspect was arrested so quickly.
Police have asked witnesses to come forward and share any relevant photos or videos as the investigation into the attack continues.
