A £300,000 Lamborghini burst into flames near a swanky hotel as the public watched helplessly.
The flammable black vehicle looked more like a pizza oven when a man opened the roof on Baker Street in Marylebone to reveal the orange fire.
Two men responded yesterday afternoon with a red fire extinguisher to put out the blaze just around the corner from famous venue The Chiltern Firehouse.
A shocked onlooker said: 'F****** hell. Lamborghini on fire on Baker Street.”
He also expressed fears that the 200mph speed limit was likely to explode, adding: “It's starting.”
The Huracan Tecnica has 24 plates, meaning it's less than a year old and can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in a blistering 3.2 seconds.
The witness who filmed the destruction on his phone praised the two men who extinguished the flickering flames when they managed to control them.
In the footage he can be heard saying a dry 'well done'.

When the fire was out, another man observed the damage and said “look, cables,” referring to the destruction caused by the fire.
Local Scott Walker later joked: “That'll work out.”
While Matthew Carter joked: 'Caused by him standing still.'
A third person said: 'I thought it was a street barbecue.'
And a taxi driver added: 'Hot wheels.'
But another observer named Cathy said, “I'll never feel sorry for anyone who can afford a car like that.”
The Chiltern Firehouse is a restaurant and boutique hotel ironically located in the Grade II listed building of the former Marylebone Fire Station.
It has been dubbed 'London's most popular celebrity hangout', with a reportedly 'rigorous screening process to accept bookings'.
The Met Police and London Fire Brigade were contacted for comment.
