Wednesday night's NBA game between the New Orleans Pelicans and Milwaukee Bucks has been postponed due to a rare snowstorm hitting Louisiana.
The historic, once-in-a-lifetime weather bomb has blanketed the city in snow, canceling all domestic flights and making road travel treacherous.
The Bucks had tried to beat the weather by flying to New Orleans earlier than planned on Monday, but tonight's game was still postponed.
The city is not used to dealing with such adverse weather conditions and local reports indicate that there is only minimal snow removal equipment in place.
There was hope that temperatures would rise enough for the game to be played on schedule, but they remained in the 30s on Wednesday morning and the officials have now made the call to reschedule the game.
The Bucks play in Miami on Thursday and it is currently unclear when they will be able to leave New Orleans to reach Florida.
The match was scheduled to take place at the Smoothie King Center in downtown New Orleans
It is currently unclear when Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks will be able to leave town
The Pelicans, meanwhile, won't play until Friday night when they travel to Memphis to take on the Grizzlies.
Louis Armstrong International Airport canceled all commercial departures on Wednesday as crews worked to clear the runways.
The Pelicans are currently going through a rough losing season and are 12-32 in the Western Conference standings, while the Bucks are flying high in the East.
Milwaukee has a 24-17 record, trailing Cleveland, Boston and New York.
