Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker is throwing her full support behind the Eagles this week — just don't ask her to spell it out.
The Eagles are now one win away from reaching this year's Super Bowl, while the Washington Commanders will participate in the NFC Championship game on Sunday.
It's been a season to remember so far for Nick Sirianni's team, who managed to get past the Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional round last weekend.
Before that win at Lincoln Financial Field, Parker was seen trying to get Philly fans excited for the game by belting out their famous EAGLES chant.
The only problem, however, was that she got the spelling terribly wrong.
“Let me hear you all sing,” the Philly mayor, wearing a kelly green hat and scarf, said at an outdoor news conference before shouting, “ELGSES! Let's go birds!'
Images of Parker's embarrassing blunder only surfaced on social media on Tuesday, leaving fans in disbelief.

One simply posted to X: 'Oh my.'
Another said: 'This can't be real?????'
'That [spelling Eagles] should probably be a requirement to be mayor,” a third wrote.
“I'm ashamed of it,” a fourth commented.
While someone concluded: 'Time for a new mayor.'
A few days after her hair-raising moment, Parker was able to make light of it at an unrelated event in Kensington.
“We don't promise perfection, I'm so glad I never did, especially after I couldn't spell Eagles properly,” she joked.
The Eagles will host the Commanders in the NFC Championship game on Sunday at 3:00 PM ET, with the winner facing the Kansas City Chiefs or Buffalo Bills in next month's Super Bowl.
