Democratic strategist James Carville offered a brutal assessment of President Joe Biden's political future.
He doesn't have one.
Carville and his co-host Al Hunt discussed the preemptive pardons Biden gave to his siblings and their spouses on their Politics War Room podcast released Thursday.
Hunt said he was “very angry that Biden did that.”
Carville took the criticism one step further.
“This is the kind of truth of where we are now,” said the Ragin' Cajun. “What he has done to himself is that no one wants to hear from this man anymore. OK? Just go to your apartment in Rehoboth and stay there.”
“And that's not because we're bad or mean people, it was all his doing, all his doing, this whole thing,” Carville continued.
Carville has insisted that 82-year-old Biden has put Democrats in a terrible position by thinking he could run for office again – despite polls showing Americans are deeply concerned about the president's old age – and then drops out of the race at the end of July.

Carville explained earlier in the podcast that “we lost the election because… we played the Super Bowl with our ninth-best quarterback.”
“And with our ninth-best quarterback, without time to prepare a campaign, without even addressing the central issue that concerns the American people,” Carville said. “We came within a point and a half.”
Carville previously wrote in an op-ed that the central issue dooming the Democratic ticket was their handling of the economy.
During Thursday's podcast episode, Carville argued with Biden who reportedly said he believed he would have defeated Trump if he had stayed in the race instead of being replaced by Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris.
“In this kind of petty back and forth, I would have beaten Trump,” Carville said, quoting BIden. “No one quite believes that.”
“Look, dude, you've had a noble career, your last act was terrible, just step aside, the party goes on, I mean they really go on,” he said. “It's very sad, but it's exactly where we are, but he made this himself.”
Hunt agreed.
“Joe Biden actually has no role to play in the national dialogue,” he said.
“What he has done to himself is that no one wants to hear from this man anymore. OK? Just go to your apartment in Rehoboth and stay there,” Carville advised
“If he tries to play a role, it will be a negative role,” Carville replied.
Carville called Biden's downfall “incredibly stunning.”
“It's one of the most tragic stories in American politics in my lifetime,” Carville noted. “The main character is actually a good guy who did it to himself.”
On Monday, the Bidens left for California, where they will begin their lives as private citizens.
Hunter Biden and his family live there, as does granddaughter Naomi Biden, who gave birth to the couple's first great-grandson earlier this month.
