A donut shop in California has been confronted with a recoil after a considerable donation from the startup of the co-owner at the inaugural committee of President Donald Trump.
Andrew Dudum, co-owner of George's Donuts & Merriment in San Francisco and co-founder and CEO of the Telezorgbedrijf Hims & Hers, recently donated $ 1 million to the inaugural committee of Trump, according to a report from the San Francisco Chronicle.
Although the donation came directly from Dudum's health startup, the consequences of the considerable contribution now have consequences for the café, with a wave of negative reviews that flood the Yelp and Google pages.
The café is plagued for the past 24 hours by a barrage of different reviews with one star on Google, although the most recent negative reviews do not give or have been removed.
“O God! Donations of 1 million dollars to Trump by the owners of this cafe? That's too much !! From now on I will spend my money somewhere else, “wrote a customer on the Yelp page of George's Donuts. The review has since been removed.
“Damn, and I wanted to try George's. No more, “says a Facebook user in a message.
The eatery is a popular place among the locals, according to Google Reviews the queues are half a block long.
On Tuesday, Dudum expressed his gratitude to HIMS Chief Operating Officer Melissa Baird, who attended the inauguration, in a message shared on X.

The post contained a photo of Baird with Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who nominated Trump as secretary of the Ministry of Health and Human Services.
The co-founder of the Donutwinkel also emphasized a shared commitment with Trump and Kennedy to tackle the American obesity epidemic.
“Let's start by tackling the root causes of disorders such as obesity and putting power back in the hands of the individual patient,” he wrote on X.
In an e-mail to SF Gate, a spokesperson for HIMS emphasized the wish of the company to build productive relationships with legislators and policy makers about the entire political spectrum that actively work on improving the health care system.
“For far too long, our current health care system forced Americans to struggle to get essential medicines and the care they need, especially for stigmatized disorders,” the statement said.
“We think we can help change the status quo and give priority to the choice and well -being of patients by working together with the political leaders who are committed to doing the same work.”
The inaugural committee of the president had already raised $ 170 million and is on track to reach the $ 200 million.
According to Quartz, large technology companies, including Amazon, Meta and Uber, were one of the top donors.

At a certain point, the committee had to stop ticket sales for large donors who wanted to attend the sworn ceremony due to a reported deficit.
Donors worth a million dollars were placed on waiting lists for opening events, because the tickets were sold out for many of the events in Washington that weekend.
However, the donors did not deter that; Some continued to contribute without gaining access to the opening events in return.
This amount is more than a doubling of the money that the Commission of President Joe Biden collected in 2020, which only raised $ 62 million after Trump's defeat in the presidential election.
The donations cover the costs of the inauguration ceremonies, including the office, parade and inauguration balls, since these events are not financed by the taxpayer.
Any surplus means will be spent on the future construction of President Trump's presidential library.
