A prison nurse is jailed for two years for smuggling a cocktail of drugs and hooking up a prisoner.
Sara Kachach, 31, an ex-drug and alcohol and recovery practitioner nurse at HMP Manchester, used her position to bypass security and bring in illegal items.
She smuggled cannabis, ketamine, cocaine and tobacco in her bra after striking up a relationship with inmate Kasim Ahmed, 29.
An investigation revealed her involvement in her 'sophisticated operation' to introduce the drugs, despite her role in helping prisoners recover from drug and alcohol abuse.
Ahmed, who was due to be released in November 2022, was found in his cell talking on a mobile phone in April 2022.
Officers seized the phone and a memory stick during a search.
Kachach, who was later suspended and fired, was arrested in August 2022 and after being taken into custody and searched, she was found to have cannabis, ketamine, cocaine and tobacco hidden in her bra.
Officers also recovered a condom containing cannabis.

A search of her office in HMP Manchester revealed a large quantity of cannabis, several steroid tablets and tobacco hidden in her personal drawer in a scent-proof bag.
A search of her home address led to the seizure of a significant amount of cash, mobile phones and SIM cards.
In December 2022, shortly after being released on license from HMP Forest Bank, police arrived at Ahmed's home address in Bury and saw him flee from the driver's seat of a Porsche Macan registered to Kachach, who was in the passenger seat.
Ahmed was arrested and returned to prison.
Further investigation led to Kachach being interviewed on suspicion of committing fraud by false representation after she applied for financing for a car with false information.
She refused to provide officers with the PIN for her phone and analysis of the phone revealed more than 3,000 contacts with Ahmed.
Kachach, of Aird Avenue, Kilmarnock was jailed for two years after being found guilty of misconduct in public office, transferring Class A, B and C drugs into prison, fraud by false representation and failing to comply with a section 49 -notification.
Ahmed was jailed for two years after pleading guilty to aiding and abetting a public office and possession of List B items containing mobile phones, SIM cards and a USB stick.
Kachach, of Aird Avenue, Kilmarnock was jailed for two years after being found guilty of misconduct in public office, transferring class A, B and C drugs into prison, fraud by false representation and failure to comply.
Detective Constable Brian Johnston from North West Regional Organized Crime Unit (NWROCU) Prison Corruption Unit said:
'This case highlights the serious consequences of breaching the trust placed in prison staff.
'Sara Kachach's actions not only undermined the safety and security of HMP Manchester, but also facilitated criminal activity within the prison.
“We are committed to working with our partners to ensure such breaches are thoroughly investigated and prosecuted.”
