Spencer Pratt and his wife Heidi Montag have filed a lawsuit against the city of Los Angeles and the Department of Water and Power.
Pratt, 41, and Montag, 38, lost their Pacific Palisades house worth $ 2.5 million by the devastating fires in Los Angeles on January 8.
The couple has now charged the city together with other homeowners because of the damage to their property, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Their lawsuit, submitted on Tuesday to the California Superior Court in Los Angeles County, accuses the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power of it 'has not been successful to maintain an adequate water supply system to combat the fires'.
It further states that the fire was 'an inevitable and inevitable consequence' because of the way in which the city and LADWP would have managed the water supply in the area.
It points to 'delays in the repair of the Santa Ynez reservoir, which means that the enormous water storage complex in the heart of the Palisades is empty for almost a year.'

Twenty other property owners have also joined the court case, including Pratt's mother Janet Pratt. His sister, Stephanie Pratt, previously confirmed that their parents' house was also destroyed by the fire in Palisades, just a few hours after Spencer and Heidi's house.
“Now that the Santa Ynez reservoir was actually out of use, the fire hydrants in Pacific Palisades failed after three tanks with one million liters of water each were dry within a twelve -hour period,” the court case claims.
In the court case, the La Dept of Water and Power of it is accused of having emptied the reservoir before the fire, “supposedly to request quotes from contractors instead of using internal staff to repair it.”
“This explained public goal was more than compensated by the considerable risk that forest fires were for Pacific Palisades,” said the court case.
“The extent of the damage resulting from the Palisades Fire was more than weighed against the benefits that could have been realized by outsourcing and postponing repairs.”
The lawsuit 'also claims a reverse conviction, which means that owners of real estate can demand compensation for damage caused by public use. It claims a non -specified compensation. ”
Their damage includes repair costs for property, loss of ownership pleasure and lost wages.
Earlier this month, Spencer unveiled his plans to sue the state of California after his house burned down in a tragic way.

The former reality star announced that he intends to make a lawsuit against California because of their alleged negligence that resulted in the loss of his place of residence.
As he spoke with blogger Perez Hilton, the father of two children remembered that he desperately tried to get help from the Los Angeles fire brigade while seeing his property went up in flames.
“They never came. The gate was still locked, “he claimed. “They never came. I looked from my security cameras until our house burned down. There were no fire trucks. “
When his house burned down, Pratt insisted that he called 911 and told them that if they would send 'one fire truck' to his street, they could 'stop'. [the fire from] Is due to the very crazy area. “
In response to his suggestion to come a truck, he said he was told that the fire brigade “does not have the resources.”
The couple's house was razed to the ground after the furious fire took over the landscape of La and caused great damage. Photos obtained by DailyMail.com showed the severity of the destruction.
The only parts of the house that were still standing were the charred entrance gate and the front part of the plastered circumference wall of the house. Large piles of rubble were seen everywhere in the building, as well as burnt foliage that once decorated the front garden of the house.
His decision to make a lawsuit comes in the midst of widespread reactions to the lack of preparation and rapid response from the mayor of Los Angeles, Karen Bass, to the forest fires.

Various forest fires recently hit the Los Angeles area.
The Eaton fire that scored 14,021 hectares east of Los Angeles was 91 percent under control, while the larger Palisades fire, which destroyed 23,448 hectares on the west side of Los Angeles, was under control for 68 percent on Wednesday.
