A two -month -old baby died after being found unconscious in a regional building.
The police started an investigation after the emergency services had been called to an estate in Gracemere in the Rockhampton region in Queensland on Monday at 11 p.m.
Paramedics discovered a girl with life -threatening injuries.
She was rushed to the Rockhampton Hospital before she was transported to Brisbane with an air bridge, where she unfortunately died on Wednesday.
A crime scene has been established on the regional site.
Agents from the Rockhampton Child Protection Investigation Unit and the Child Trauma Unit are conducting research.
It comes after an investigation had started into the suspect's death of a boy in the John Hunter Hospital in northwestern NSW.
The four-month-old baby was first brought to the Gunnedah Hospital by his parents, where the staff informed the police of his injuries.
