A depraved transgender sex predator was today jailed for 12 years after lying in wait at a beauty salon and kidnapping and raping a 14-year-old girl at knifepoint as she headed to school.

Oliver Smith, 21, jumped the terrified lonely teenager in her school uniform and pulled a box cutter over her as she walked through a nature reserve.

During the 45-minute ordeal, the porn addict subjected her to “gratuitous threats of violence” and forced her to a secluded spot in the woods where Smith raped her.

When the 'frightened' and 'sobbing' schoolgirl tried to flee, Smith chased her and grabbed her mouth to cover her screams, threatening to stab her in the throat.

A court heard the pervert had meticulously planned the attack by scouting the woods, wearing gloves, then washing the victim in a river and having a 'very disturbing' manifesto.

Nine months before the attack, Smith was convicted of voyeurism and possessing child abuse images, but escaped prison.

After the horrific rape they fled to Scotland, 900 kilometers away, but could not continue because the 21-year-old did not have a passport.

Today at Portsmouth Crown Court, Smith – who the court heard uses pronouns and suffers from 'gender issues' – was jailed for 12 years as the schoolgirl's parents looked on.

The court heard Smith raped the girl in woodland at Bordon Inclosure in Bordon, Hants, on the morning of September 27 last year.

The home-schooled Smith, who lived with their grandmother in the city, was seen leaving home early in the morning, but not in his work clothes.

Prosecutor Simon Foster said Smith waited in the woods for 30 minutes before the girl arrived.

A week earlier, a hiker had seen “a man standing there in a way that scared her.”

Mr Foster said: 'In any event the defendant arrived at the scene some time before she did [the schoolgirl] entered the forest.

“He must have been waiting for her – she said she saw someone like him standing in the woods on her walks to school – or he was waiting for someone like her.

'She said he knew exactly where he was going, as if it had been planned before.

'She was scared, panicked, hyperventilated and crying [during the attack]. She also wondered whether she would see her family again.'

The girl said in her police interview: 'I went into the woods, this man came towards me, I tried to get out of the way.

'He took a box cutter out of his pocket, said 'you're coming with me' and turned me around.

“I said to him 'what the hell are you doing?' I'm a 14 year old girl, get off me'.

'He put his hand over my mouth so I couldn't scream anymore.

“He said if I tried to run or scream again, he would stick this knife in your neck… I didn't want to die.”

After the attack, Smith led the “distressed” girl through the woods and took her to a nearby river, telling her, “I'm going to wash you off.”

They told her: 'You won't die, I promise you that.'

After washing the girl in the river, Smith allowed her to leave. She fled the woods, contacted her mother and was found 'distressed' by a dog walker.

Smith immediately took the train to London and then the train to Edinburgh.

From there they traveled to Mallaig, a town on the west coast of the Scottish Highlands, where they were arrested, almost 600 miles from the attack in Bordon.

Mr Foster said Smith had left their passports at home and “it makes you wonder” how far they would have traveled if they had had it.

A search of their home revealed that Smith had a “very disturbing manifesto” planning an attack, outlining considerations such as “disguise” and “witnesses.”

The court heard Smith spent their time in online chat rooms, had 'no friends', had a 'long-term porn addiction' and watched 'disturbing pornography'.

The girl's parents, who were present at the court, said in their statement that their world “has fallen apart beyond belief.”

“The damage this has caused to our family is indescribable,” they said.

“She was one of the kindest, gentlest souls. Now she is a shell of her former self.

“She was an outgoing, confident kid with a great sense of humor. All that has changed and disappeared.

'What we would do to see her infectious smile again. Her youth has been ripped away.”

In mitigation, Rupert Hallowes said Smith suffers from 'gender issues' and was suffering from a depressive episode at the time.

“This defendant is beginning to realize the impact of their actions on this family,” Mr Hallowes said.

Smith “lacked maturity” and “deeply regrets it,” he added.

Judge James Newton-Price KC jailed Smith for 12 years.

He said it was a “horrific and traumatic ordeal” and that he “paid tribute to the extraordinary courage” of the girl.

“She was very vulnerable because of her age and she should have expected to be able to walk to school safely,” the judge said.

Judge Newton-Price KC branded Smith a 'danger to women'.

He said: 'You displayed calculated and predatory behaviour, I am sure you planned what you wanted to do that day.

“You were forensically aware, wore gloves and let her wash herself.

'You were determined to have intercourse or other sex with your victim and you were prepared to instill fear by forcing her to do what you wanted with a knife.

“It was about degradation and humiliation, it was a sustained incident – 45 minutes – and there was an unnecessary threat of violence with a knife.”

Smith, who kept a blank face, admitted rape, attempted rape, false imprisonment, committed an offense with intent to commit a sexual offence, threatened another with a knife, false imprisonment, caused a person to engage in sexual activity without consent, and breach of a sexual harm prevention order.

The schoolgirl's mother kept her eyes on Smith during the hearing and her father cried as harrowing details were read out.
