Kanye West's ex-assistant has asked a court to allow her to serve the rapper via a newspaper article after an investigation to determine his whereabouts was unsuccessful, according to a new report.
Lauren Pisciotta, 36, initially sued the 47-year-old rapper-turned-designer in June 2024, citing sexual harassment, breach of contract and wrongful termination.
The former Only Fans content creator went on to add allegations of sexual assault to the complaint, claiming her drink was spiked during a music studio session.
West – who was last seen in Japan – has denied the allegations, calling them 'baseless', but the father-of-four has not formally responded to the lawsuit.
The US Sun reports that he hasn't even bothered to secure legal representation as Pisciotta's legal team scrambles to serve him.

Meanwhile, West has left his $10,000/month rental and is believed to have moved to Tokyo, Japan with wife Bianca Censori.
The rap artist bought a home in Beverly Hills last year, but the property is vacant, the publication reported Friday.
However, his 30-year-old wife has been spotted out and about in LA by herself in recent months.
Serving someone through a newspaper is commonly referred to as “Service by Publication” and is considered a last resort method of delivering legal documents.
Court documents reviewed by the Outlet State: “Kanye West A/K/A was not served despite extensive research and efforts to achieve personalized service. Yeezy Construction, Inc. appears to be a defunct entity.
“Plaintiff personally served the trial agents for Kanye West A/K/A Ye's Alter Ego Entities Yeezy, LLC, Yeezy Footwear, LLC, and Yeezy Apparel, LLC.
“Their respective time to respond to the first amended complaint adopted.”
The destructive Los Angeles firestorms were cited as a reason for delay in Pisciotta's legal pursuit.
According to the documents, her reps shared: “The year-end holidays and the respective Eaton and Palisades fires have delayed the plaintiff before this court ex parte for an order allowing Kanye West a/k/a ye by publication can be served.
“Plaintiff plans to be in court in the next 5 – 10 business days.”

Lauren's latest court filing is dated January 22nd and the looming follow-up hearing is scheduled for January 29th.
Previous court correspondence shows her lawyers said her former employer Kanye is “out of the country and/or evading duty.”
The Sun notes that her team now plans to plant an advertisement in a newspaper as a last resort to inform the West about the lawsuit.
Pisciotta was employed by the Yeezy founder from 2021 to 2022, during which time she was promoted from executive assistant to chief of staff.
