Pete Hegseeth is officially sworn as Minister of Defense, where all seven of his children watch.
Hegseeth swore an oath of the office alongside vice -president JD Vance for his wife and children.
The US Senate barely confirmed the former Co-Gastheer of Fox News as the Pentagon Chief on Friday.
After cursing, Hegseeth spoke, thanked President Trump and described the job as an 'honor of your life'.
He added: “We look forward to having the backs of our troops in carrying out peace by strengthening, by putting America first and improving our army.”
Hegseeth also thanked Vance for the 'breaking the draw' in supporting his appointment after his voice was the decisive vote.
The 44-year-old added: 'There were so many people in it and allies on the outside that stood with us.
'I want to thank the war fighters, I want to thank the men and women who wear the uniform.

'Recovery The Warrior -Ethos in everything we do, rebuild us militarily and recovering, we don't want to wage wars. We want to end them in a responsible manner. '
He added: “If we have to fight them, we will bring overwhelming and decisive power to destroy the enemy and bring our boys home.”
Hegseeth is the most controversial confirmation by Donald Trump so far and he skated on thin ice before he got a passing vote from senators on Friday.
Immediately after Trump announced the nomination of Hegseeth in November, the candidate was chased with allegations, including drinking issues, sexual misconduct and poor business judgment.
The father of seven denies misconduct in those cases, and he calls God and his third wife Jennifer to help change course. “I am not perfect,” he testified for the Senate Committee for armed services while his wife was right behind her husband in a show of support.
But in the last 24 hours just before his final confirmation, several Republicans turned their back on Trump's nominee and said they would not vote for him.

Nevertheless, Hegseeth was confirmed in the best track of the Pentagon – which showed that the Maga mandate of Donald Trump even overcome the most skeptical senators.
However, Hegseeth has not won all Republicans. Sens. Susan Collins from Maine and Lisa Murkowski from Alaska revealed that they would not support the candidate, partly because of the scandals hanging over him.
Mitch McConnell also voted against Hegseeth, and in a strange scene was seen with Democrats after the vote despite their loss.
McConnell, who is skeptical about American defense and foreign policy, had voted earlier this week to promote nomination to the floor, but was a no upon confirmation.
In a statement, McConnell wrote that “in public comments and testimony for the Armed Services Committee, Mr. Hegseeth did not take this reality into account.”
