The police have released shocking dashboard camera images that shows the most unfortunate drivers of Great -Britain while they are dangerously overtaking and going through a one -way street.

Thousands of videos that uncover dangerous driving have been released by officers in Devon and Cornwall.

It is after Operation Snap has been launched to enable members of the public to submit a safe online report and to submit associated digital images with potential traffic violations.

The police operation has received more than 20,600 pieces of video images that witnesses have been submitted by witnesses in five years – including various almost misses with pedestrians and cyclists.

More than 6,000 of these general submissions were reported in 2024 alone, because various drivers were affected with forbidden, fines and points on their license.

A clip recorded from a cyclecam shows a van that cannot give way for a cyclist at a cross in Exeter, so that the cyclist on the sidewalk was forcing a pub with customers to drink outside.

The driver received a disqualification of six months and had to pay £ 391 in a fine and associated costs.

Adrian Leisk, Devon & Cornwall Police's head safety and chairman of the Vision Zero South West Enforcement Group said: 'Police officers cannot be everywhere, so the help of the public is of vital importance when it comes to keeping our roads safe.

'20, 000 online submissions from the road users involved is a will of this effective partnership with our communities, and acknowledge that we all want to be safe on the ways of Devon & Cornwall.

'Everyone will have witnessed driving or driving on our roads that shoots far behind an acceptable standard – and often this behavior endangers the lives of people. This is simply not acceptable.

'By submitting video evidence of these incidents through on Snap, it enables the police to take action, keep directors responsible and to train or prosecute those who fail.

'By doing this, we hope to improve the overall standard of road use in Devon & Cornwall and ultimately reduce the number of people killed or seriously injured.

'Don't forget that more people than ever have their own dashcams, helmet cameras, mobile phones and even video calls, so it's increasingly likely that bad driving is caught on the camera.

'Submissions have resulted in everything, from courses for the education of the director to penalty points, big fines and even disqualifications. It's just not worth the risk. '

Alison Hernandez, police and crime commissioner for Devon, Cornwall and the islands of Scilly, is chairman of Vision Zero South West.

Commissioner Hernandez added: 'I would like to thank a big one for everyone who has taken the time to submit video images at Snap – You make a positive difference for the safety of road users in the region.

'Although surpassing 20,000 entries shows that the public would like to collaborate with us in the direction of safer roads, we would ultimately like to see the entries decrease as the general Rhine forms improve.

“This is about saving lives. In 2023, 48 people were killed and 702 were seriously injured on the roads of Devon and Cornwall. All members of Vision Zero have committed themselves to reducing the number of fatal and serious road collisions by 50% by 2030 – and on Snap plays a major role in this. '
