One of the demonstrators, both quickly removed from the conference room in Central London by security, said that she protested against the continuous subsidy from Drax Power Station in North Yorkshire.
The woman, who gave her name as Ellie, said: 'Labor promised change and we voted for them because we wanted to change and they continue to subsidize.
“We still believe that there is time for them to make a difference, but they have to end the subsidies now.”

In a statement on X, formerly Twitter, a spokesperson for Axe Drax said: 'Wes Streeting and Labor cannot talk seriously about the protection of health, while they can continue to benefit polluters from poisoning communities.
“It is high time that this government is committed to terminating subsidies for Drax, the dirtiest power plant in Great Britain.”

“That is a poverty of ambition for our country and labor completely rejects it.”
