Eight people were rushed to hospital after an 8-foot-high balcony of a house, where a group was reportedly having lunch, collapsed.
A photo from the scene shows the large square balcony that collapsed at the front of the house on O'Donohue Road, in the town of Anglesea on Victoria's southern Surf Coast.
A dog was also reported injured on Saturday after the balcony floor gave way around 2pm.
Three men, three women and two teenage girls were taken to Geelong Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
They remain in a stable condition.
A structural engineer will assess the building's construction and the SES has cordoned off the area.
An SES spokeswoman told Daily Mail Australia the wooden structure fell on three people.
“SES, together with ambulance crews and the CFA, helped free the people trapped underneath,” the spokeswoman said.
