Lucy Letby's appeal against her murder judgments will identify a doctor whose 'suboptimal care' would have led to the death of one of the babies accused the nurse of murder.

The statement against consultant Dr. Stephen Brearey will be an appeal to concentrate on disturbing new evidence about alleged poor quality care given to babies in his hospital, Countess of Chester.

Evidence collected by the new legal team of Letby makes the moving prospect that she serves life in prison for murders that were in fact deaths caused by insituation shortcomings in the hospital. Experts have increasingly asked how Letby, 35, was condemned with only circumstances, disputed, with only circumstances, disputed, with only circumstances, disputes statistical opportunities and a lack of a convincing motive. Since then, important boards of persecution have been thrown in serious doubt.

Her lawyer Mark McDonald, who builds up a case to go to the Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC), said last night: 'We now have countless reports from international expert neonatologists with much more experience than those who have given proof for the prosecution during the during the prosecution during the process.

'These experts have discovered major problems with regard to treatment, diagnosis and care for many of the babies in the unit and nothing is the fault of a nurse.

'It will soon be for the CCRC and later the Court of Appeal to see where the truth is really, but for now everything points to a series of unsafe beliefs. If that is the case, this is the biggest judicial miscarriage in British history. '

The developments follow Tory MP Sir David Davis who called for a new process and told the commons this month: “There was no hard evidence against Letby, nobody saw her do anything unusual.” He said that much of the evidence was based on the feeling of a 'doctor … based on a coincidence that she was employed for some dead'.

He said that the analysis of hospital notes proved that, in contrast to the claimant's claim that Baby O had been attacked with bone trauma and air in the nasogastric tube, doctors had used excessive ventilation pressure during resuscitation.

He said: 'The responsible consultant made a decision to put a needle in the belly to release what they thought the gas pressure was in the belly. However, this was wrongly inserted in the right side of the baby's belly.

'As a result of this error, the needle penetrated the liver, causing serious internal bleeding. This was undoubtedly an important contributing factor in the death of the baby, if not the outright cause. '

Sir David did not identify the consultant – one of the most important accusators of Letby – but veteran investigative journalist John Sweeney claimed that his podcast was once a crime? The tests of Lucy Letby 'that the doctor who put the needle in the liver of the baby O was the head of unity, Dr. Stephen Brearey.

Dr. Richard Taylor, a Canadian neonatologist, told a recent press conference about the Letby case that he believed that baby O was not killed by the nurse.

He said about the alleged involvement of Dr. BRAREY: 'If this had happened to me, I would not be able to sleep at night, knowing what I had done to the baby's death.

“And now a nurse in prison has been convicted of murder. The claim was that Letby had injected air into the baby. I am not even sure what the persecution claimed, but it is nonsense, complete nonsense. The baby died on shock, from a liver perforation. '

Dr. Brerey did not respond to a request for comment.

A source at Countess of the Chester Hospital said that Baby O case had undergone a complete and thorough judicial trial in which a jury and three judges of the Court of Appeal were involved and would not comment on the hospital because of the current independent investigation by Lady Justice Thirlwall in the deaths, plus continuous police investigations.

In August 2023, Letby was convicted of seven counts or murder and seven of attempted murder.
