Rachel Reeves has left people baffled after she responded with 'I'm more of a Beyonce' fan when asked to name her favorite Beatles song.

The Labor chancellor was probed with Laura Kuenssberg's question on the BBC this morning, where Tory opposition leader Kemi Badenoch also got a grilling.

Ms Badenoch's answer to the question was as surprising to some viewers as the MP named Yellow Submarine as her all-time favourite.

The division was made when Kunnesberg also spoke to the pair on topics such as building a third runway at Heathrow Airport and the state of public finances.

Mrs. Kunnesburg had said, “I wonder what your favorite Beatles song is Rachel Reeves?”

The chancellor laughed and replied, “Well, I'm more of a Beyonce person myself Laura.”

Ms Reeves admitted afterwards that she 'enjoyed' the song Hey Jude.

Meanwhile, Ms Badenoch replied 'Yellow Submarine' when asked the same question, with the presenter adding that she was 'sure' they would be popular choices with the audience.

However, it's not clear that they were all that popular, as the replies draw some mocking comments online.

Once the person said: 'I cringed so hard watching this' while a second added 'oh my god'.

Another said: 'Just say you don't have a favorite Beatles song instead of yellow submarine,' while someone else claimed: 'Reeves couldn't name three Beyonce songs if her life depended on it.'

A fifth person said: 'Wow. The chancellor answered a question. '

And another claimed that Mrs Reeves' favorite Beatles song should have been 'Taxman'.

It comes as Ms Reeves had named Beyonce as her favorite musician last year, adding her most loved song from the American artist was 'Lemonade'.

Other topics discussed in this morning's BBC interview included the possibility of a third runway at Heathrow, with the chancellor hinting that the government would support the idea.

She also spoke about public finances, explaining that she did not believe that “low growth is our destiny.”
