A guest of the Antiques Roadshow was speechless when he discovered the value of his Olympic torch.
In a recent episode of the BBC show, the experts met in Pollark Park in Glasgow to inform people about the history behind their special items.
Journalist Gavin Bell went to ask appraiser Jamie Russell about the torch he used during his participation in the Olympic Games.
Jamie was absolutely surprised about the item and said to Gavin: 'Before I came here to the roadshow today, I had a long list of items in my head that I thought I would see that would appear from boxes and bags for me.
“But one of them was certainly not an Olympic torch. I wonder if you can tell us how you got this possession. ”
Gavin explained: 'When I was a young boy, I walked in the 800 meters at a club from Glasgow. So as a boy, of course, I dreamed of ever participating in the Olympic Games.
“And in the end the dream became reality in a way I never expected.

'I was sent to South Korea prior to the 1988 Games.
'And while I was there, I met a few young English boys who were appointed to take care of the Public Relations for the Torchtocht.
“And they discovered my athletic background and invited me to wear the torch on the first day it arrived in Korea.”
Jamie could not control his excitement when seeing the torch and told him how much it was worth.
The expert said, “I think if this would appear at an auction today, you can safely assume an estimate of about £ 1,500 to £ 2,500.”
Gavin could not believe his ears with what Jamie told him and answered: 'Really?! Gosh! '
Jamie said to the guest: “It's such an iconic item.”
But Gavin made it clear that he could not get it in his hands and said to him: 'Well, I can't accept money for it!

The expert said: 'I mean, it's fantastic.
'And it is really great to see one here in the rainy Glasgow.
'And what is also great, as an appraiser, is that we not only know what it looks like, but that it also tells us here.
'We know that it was made, of course in 1988, traveled from Olympia in Greece where the procession started and then all the way to the Olympic Stadium in Seoul where the flame was lit.
“If we look at the object itself, it is really a beautiful piece of design.”
He explained the reason behind some designs of the torch.
Jamie said that dragons on the torch are used to 'indicate unity between the east and the west'.
