The Buffalo Bills suffered an embarrassing defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC championship game – which cost Dave Portnoy a fortune.
Before the Bills faced the Chiefs in Arrowhead on Sunday night, the Barstool Sports founder revealed he had placed a staggering $1 million on Buffalo to win the Super Bowl this season.
He wrote on X: “Here's a 3-team parlay for today. But I have to be honest. My only focus is on the Bills winning today because I have a milly on them winning the Super Bowl. '
Unfortunately for Portnoy, Josh Allen was unable to inspire the Bills to their first Super Bowl appearance since 1994 after slumping to a dramatic 32-29 loss in Kansas City.
Early in the fourth quarter, the 47-year-old remained souls when Buffalo was controversially deemed to have missed a crucial first down, with NFL referees accusing him of “cheating” to help Kansas City.

“Guts ripped out, I feel for all of Buffalo,” he said. “Let me tell you something: the referees should be in jail. Refs should be in jail, that fourth place changed the whole game.
“McDermott should be in jail, the Bills coach. That tush push that they run, that they keep running that don't work… yeah, the referee f***ed you, [but] Don't they know what a tush push is? You brought in two F***ing huge guys and you're pushing! They don't.
“I thought Dalton Kincaid should have caught that pass, but whatever. You have the ball, three, and you couldn't have asked for more.

Although it was heartbreak for Portnoy and the Bills, the Chiefs are now just one win away from becoming the first team in NFL history to win three straight Super Bowls.
