The video seemed to imitate Elon Musk, whose gesture was interpreted on a large scale during the inauguration of President Donald Trump as a Nazi greetings.
In the video, Smith spoke to the camera and said: “I just check in with my friends who are struggling this week,” before he taps her chest three times and immediately extended her arm with her palm down. She concluded with the explanation: “My heart goes out to you.”
After the increasing return, Smith made her Tiktok account private and resigned from her position on Sunday.
In her letter of resignation to the board, Smith wrote: “To make the township move forward without the encounter of the consequences of my video, I put my resignation of the Townencin Township Board of Supervisors in force.”
The board announced his intention to accept its dismissal during a public meeting and to issue a statement stating: “The Council of Supervisors cannot and does not want to tolerate.”

Laura Smith, member of the Towamencin Township Board of Supervisors in Pennsylvania, led to indignation after sharing a Tiktok video in which she performed a Nazi -greeting
The video seemed to mock Elon Musk, whose gesture during the inauguration of Donald Trump was interpreted on a large scale as a Nazi greeting
“I love racism, anti -Semitism or discrimination in any way or form, and my record as a municipality of supervisor bears witness to my dedication to treat all people with dignity and respect.”
Musk has since defended the gesture that he has made Trump's inauguration the day, while referring to the names of high-ranking Nazi officials from the Second World War.
In a post to his X account on Thursday, Musk about Adolf Hitler's deputy Führer Rudolf Hess, Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels, Reichstag -President Hermann Göring and SS commander Heinrich Himmler. He also focused on progressive use of preferred forests, writing:
'Don't say Hess to Nazi accusations! Some people will go down everything! Stop your enemies! He would have been his pronouns/Himmler! “Musk added:” I bet your Nazi came. “
The post quickly led to indignation, with many who criticized the gesture, where Musk was made, where he put his hand over his heart and then expanded to wave the crowd in Capital One Arena.
On the other side of the aisle, other Z users have rejected the return as an exaggerated one.
Even Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu weighed and supported Musk on Thursday in an X -post: 'Elon is falsely lubricated. He is a good friend of Israel. 'Netanyahu emphasized Musk's visit to Israel after the Hamas attack of 7 October and praised him for his consistent support for Israel's right to defend himself.
The father of Musk, Errol Musk, also defended his son during an interview with Nieuwsnation -guest Chris Cuomo.
He used the names to publish a series of puns in a message to X on Thursday and concluded: “I bet you did Nazi”
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also came to the defense of Musk on Thursday and claimed that he is a 'great friend of Israel' and that liberals false the billionaire 'false'
“It's absolute nonsense, absolutely waste,” he said about the accusations. 'It is a universal greeting, or, as you said, throw away his heart. That is universal for thousands of years. '
Meanwhile, Musk accused liberals of hypocrisy in their criticism and claimed that they at the same time supported Hamas while convicting him.
“The radical leftians are really upset that they had to take the time from their busy day that Hamas praised to call me a Nazi,” he wrote on X.
The controversy unfolds in the midst of continuous tensions after the Hamas attack of 7 October on Israel, who, since the Holocaust, marked the deadliest day for the Jewish people.
While Israel and Hamas recently reached a ceasefire agreement with the release of hostages, debates on the conflict continue to polarize the global public.
Trump and many Republican politicians have been Vocal supporters of Israel, with the former president moving the American embassy to Jerusalem during his first term and helping the Abraham to strengthen ties between Israel and the adjacent nations.
