A vast Upstate New York Mansion once the home of one of the original stars of Saturday Night Live has gone the market for almost $ 3.7 million.
Chevy Chase, the first SNL artist to anchor the popular weekend update segment, lived in the eight bedrooms, five and a half bath when he was a child, according to the current owner.
The house is in West Hurley, a small town near Woodstock and about a two -hour drive from New York City.
Richard Vizzini and Emily Wagner, the listing agents at Hudson Valley-company Corcoran Country Living, described the building as 'Rich in history standing on a hill with awesome views of the Ashokan reservoir and Catskill Mountains.'
Built in 1918, the house was designed by the legendary civil engineer J. Waldo Smith, who is known for leading the creation of the massive nearby reservoir that offers approximately 40 percent of New York City drinking water.
Two separate houses are on the nearly 12.5 hectares of land. The 3500 square foot main building, complete with five beds and three baths, has an entrance of a columned with a large veranda. In the fall, the veranda is covered with towering red bushes.
A short walking distance is the coach house, which has 3 beds and 2.5 baths. Combined, the two houses have nearly 6000 square foot livable space.
According to Corocoran's offer, the neoclassical stone architecture of both houses is 'lovingly maintained' during their century existence.

The interior of the main house is full of charms such as high ceilings and large rooms that still have their original red oak lists and hardwood floors.
The living room has a fireplace with a cloak made of red brick and is surrounded by windows to let tons of natural light inside.
The kitchen, another room with many windows, has 'a farm washbasin, stainless steel appliances, large island and spacious cupboards', according to the offer.
Although there is a small dining area in the kitchen, the space borders next to the formal dining room, which has the characteristic hardwood floors of the house and an elegant porcelain cupboard.
The upper floor is where the bedrooms are found. The master has an Ensuite bathroom, complete with three windows and a beautiful Klawfoot bath.
The view of the mountainous, tree -cut landscape can be enjoyed on the terrace of the house, which has a buried saltwater swimming pool, or of the third floor dome.
The Koetshuis offers the final owner a rental option or the perfect place to house guests.
It comes with a cozy living room, also with a red brick fireplace. Near is the dining room, which leads to a wooden deck via French doors.
The bedrooms are on the ground floor, while the upper floor is home to the large room, which is large enough to be used as a yoga or art studio.

It is not entirely clear when Chase, 81, lived in this house, although by the time he was high school, he went to the Stockbridge School in Massachusetts. The now closed boarding school was almost 73 miles away from the house.
In 2019, Chase posted a photo of 1950 of himself with his father, Ned Chase, in Woodstock. The star 'National Lampoon' would have been six years old in the photo.
Chase first became known in 1975 when he was selected as a Cast member on NBC's Saturday Night Live, a show that continues to exist to this day.
Chase came up with the term that the cast uses to this day to introduce the show: “Live from New York, it's Saturday night!”
Known for his physical comedy, was one of his most famous sketches when he mocked President Gerald Ford for stumbling while he came out of the Air Force in Salzburg, Austria.
Chase later met Ford and the two solved things, even though he was routinely depicted as a sweet Klutz. A year after Ford died in 2006, Chase called him 'a great man'.
Although he was one of the original cast members on SNL, Chase did not last long in the show, reportedly because of his personal problems with his colleagues. Bill Murray replaced him halfway through the second season in 1976.
It is said that he will be banned from the show after he was offensive to other cast members when he organized it in 1997.
Chase's hot -headed reputation followed him during his career and many actors have publicly said how difficult it is to work with him.

Not too different from his abrupt ending at SNL, Chase was fired in 2013 from a highly praised NBC Sitcom 'Community' after using the N-word for his black co-star Yvette Nicole Brown and Donald Glover.
Ten years later, Chase decided to deviate his time in the show that politically unpredicted millionaire Pierce Hawthorne portrayed.
