An Indiana man who was recently forgiven by President Donald Trump for his role in the Capitol Riot of January 6 was shot and killed by a police officer during a traffic stop on Sunday.

Matthew Huttle, 42, was shot and killed by a deputy at the Sheriff's Department of Jasper County around 4.15 pm on State Road 14, Fox 59 reports.

The State Police of Indiana said that the traffic stop led the non -iced representative to try to arrest Huttle, but he would resist and struggled with the officer.

That altercation of words led the representative to fire his gun and kill Huttle.

It remains unclear why the Huttle representative stopped at the lines of Jasper and Pulaski County and for which he was arrested.

Officers only noted that he was in possession of a firearm, but did not say whether Huttle had used the weapon.

Huttle and his uncle, Dale Huttle, were previously arrested to participate in the US Capitol riots of January 6.

The FBI said that the 42-year-old was about 10 minutes in the Capitol, but stayed on Capitol Grounds for a few hours.

He was eventually arrested in Boise, Idaho in November 2022 after he was identified in a video in the Capitol that, according to USA Today, went into 'multiple' offices, the crypt area and the corridors.

Huttle eventually argued guilty of entering a limited building, because his lawyer argued that he was just in the Capitol to give his uncle a ride, ABC 7 Chicago reports.

“He is not a true believer in a political case,” wrote defender Andrew Hemmer in a court at the time.

“He went to the rally instead because it would be a historic moment, and he had nothing better to do after he had come out of prison” for an earlier row.

“His uncle spoke to him about politics and stolen elections, but Matt usually agreed because he didn't really care.”

Hemmer also noticed that his client started drinking as a teenager, and for almost 15 years, Huttle drank 12 to 18 beers almost every day, say judicial documents obtained by the New York Times.

“Much of the criminal history of Matt and many of the problems in his life in general are directly related to his extreme alcohol abuse,” the lawyer claimed.

Huttle was also a father of two who had experienced 'a lot of tragedy and loss' in his life, Hemmer continued.

The mother of Huttle died in April 2023 and the mother of his son died of a fentanyl overdose in 2022.

In 2015, Huttle was also shot in the back of his knee and in 2018 he was attacked with a hammer and baseball bat by his son's boyfriend, which caused extensive injuries.

The health of Huttle had “quickly deteriorated in recent years” and he suffered from chronic arthritis, emphysema and late stage cirrhosis of the liver caused by his excessive drinking, Hemmer said.

“He is a hard worker and often has to move and reset his life in the short term to find new work,” he wrote in a memo in November 2023.

“He lives in California, Idaho, Arkansas and Indiana, and will probably try to move again, to another location in Indiana, as soon as this case has been resolved.”

Huttle was sentenced to six months in the federal prison, followed by 12 months in accompanied release, while his uncle was only released after President Trump required all rioters

Huttle was sentenced to six months in the federal prison, followed by 12 months in accompanied release.

His prison sentence ended on July 17, 2024.

Huttle's uncle argued guilty of more serious charges and was sentenced to two and a half years in prison for attacking law enforcement with a dangerous weapon. He was seen with a upside down flagpole and seemed to hit an officer.

Dale was only released on January 20, when President Trump fell all rioters.

“I'm not ashamed of being there. It was our duty as patriots, “said the uncle in an interview after the riot, according to the Ministry of Justice.

'I put myself at stake to defend the country. And I have, I don't regret. I will not say that I am sorry. '

The State Police of Indiana is now leading the investigation into the shooting on the police, and the substitute that the trigger has drawn, is placed on leave in the midst of the investigation, as well as the standard policy.

Once the investigation is completed, the findings are sent to the public prosecutor.

“Our condolences go to the deceased family, because every loss of life is traumatic for those who were closed to Mr Huttle,” said Jasper County Sheriff Patrick Williamson.

“I will release the name of the officer as soon as I have approval from the recorders of the State Police,” he added.
