The police have re -arrested the driver of the car who plowed in Wimbledon Prep School in July 2023 and killed two students.

Claire Freemantle, 48, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving this morning and stays in custody, said with Police.

Nuria Sajjad and Selena Lau, both eight, were killed when the car collapsed through a fence outside the school and bumped with a building.

The girls had enjoyed the end of the term at the Study Preparatory School in Wimbledon, Southwest London, when a Land Rover was powered by MS Freemantle in the Festivities, fatally injured and injured a dozen others.

A first investigation by the roads and the command of the transport police resulted in a direction of the Crown Prosecution Service in June 2024 that the driver should not experience any further action.

It discovered that Mrs. Freemantle had suffered an epileptic shock behind the wheel.

But after worrying by the Selena and Nuria families, there was an assessment of 'research lines that required further research'.

The families had said that they were 'not convinced' that the investigation was being carried out thoroughly after it had been announced in June that the director would not receive any criminal prosecution.

The police are now launching a new profession for any witnesses to come forward.

Detective -Superintendent Basford said: 'I would like to take this opportunity to appeal to witnesses or people with information that do not yet have to talk to the police to come forward.

'Would you follow the local golf course or drive in or around the Study Prep School in Wimbledon at the time of the collision? Have you seen the vehicle – a distinctive golden country Rover -defender – in the run -up to the collision? We believe that there were people in the area who were not spoken by the police and remain unknown. I would ask those people to contact us.

'Our most important priority is to ensure that the research lines identified by the assessment are claimed. This is a live investigation and to maintain its integrity, I cannot go further in detail at this stage. I would encourage people to prevent speculation. '

After the first decision of the CPS, Mrs Freemantle spoke and issued a statement stating that she had no memory of the incident after she had lost consciousness.

She said, “Because I became aware of the terrible event that took place on July 6, the devastating consequences for everyone who affected did not leave my thoughts and will be with me for the rest of my life,” she said.

'I have since made the diagnosis as an epileptic attack with loss of consciousness. This was not an existing condition. As a result of losing consciousness, I have no reminder of what was happening.

'I can only express my deepest sorrow for the families who have suffered so much loss and injury.

'As a mother I understand that there can be no words that result in the pain and loss that is the result of what happened at those terrible moments while I was unconscious.

“My sincere sympathy is for all the affected children and families, and especially for the parents of Nuria Sajjad and Selena Lau.”

After the first decision that no further action would be taken, the parents of Selena and Nuria released a joint statement.

They said: 'All victims of the events of July 6, 2023 did nothing wrong.

'We were all in the safest place where we could have been outside our own house. We celebrated a day full of joy.

Nuria and Selena's lives were taken that way. So many lives were also irreparably crushed at that time.

'Hundreds of people – parents, teachers, children, neighbors, friends and family members – will never lead' normal 'life again. Some of us will never experience joy again.

'We have tried to maintain trust in the systems and institutions that are supposed to protect victims and give justice to the affected. We are disappointed by this system. We have already publicly expressed our dissatisfaction with the pace of the research process.

“It is now clear to us that the depth of the process is also doubtful. In the absence of concrete proof of the opposite, we can only suspect that the investigation has been just as bad. '

The Met asks everyone with information to contact the large incident room on 0207 175 0793, call 101 with CAD 6528/27JAN.

This is a crushing new story and is updated.
