New York Magazine has been beaten for editing black people from a front that spreads on the 'young, cheerful and casual cruel' Maga trouw.
On January 20, a reporter described an inauguration party in Washington in Butterworth's Bistro next to young Republicans who celebrated the return of Donald Trump to the White House.
After the report made the front page of NY Magazine, the publication was called for cropping the main image to remove a person of color – making it looked like the only 'casually cruel' Trump fans who were present.
Party host CJ Pearson, a black conservative activist and political adviser, described the article and the photo choice as 'insane'.
“This is insane,” he wrote on X. “I organized this event and @Nymag deliberately let me out of their story because it would have undermined their story that Maga is a racist cult.”
Another participant said, “I was on this party, just like many other conservative media -influencers who black, Latino, Asian, etc.”
A third added: “This is low.”
The cover photo contained glamorous, young white partygoers dressed in chic dresses and tuxedo, grinning with drinks in their hand while they celebrated.

The promotion of the piece, the NY MAG X account wrote that the story “About the young, cheerful, self -assured and casual cruel trumpers were, after conquering Washington, set their sights on the rest of America.”
But quickly the entire photo started to spread on the cover, and viewers with eagle eyes noticed that there were several black attendees in the photo that were not visible in the last crop.
A trio of black men on the left side of the frame was completely cut, while the face of an ethnic ambiguous man was covered by smart places of the subtitle: the cruel children's table.
The author of the article refers twice in their piece to the 'whiteness' of the Maga Cohort.
First they wrote: “Almost everyone is white.”
Later in the piece, with a participant in one of the inauguration parties, they added: “” Did you notice that the entire room is white? “An older woman in an UPDO and a silver crosser dress asked me, although it was not entirely clear whether she thought that was a good or a bad thing.”
Since then, the journalist has made their X account private in the aftermath of the Maga recovery.

“Selectively and deliberately crop discriminatory,” added another.
But the journalist also described the electric scene – and attendees – as a new wave of Trump supporters who were liberated from the Malcast in 2016.
“Among the tourists from Tampa, the donors and the last politicians Trump have been hit in submission, one can also witness the emerging influence of a newer type of conservative,” the reporter wrote.
'They are not detached whether working class or anti -elite or many of the other adjectives used since 2016 to describe Trump supporters. Since 2016 they have been young, offensive, urban and very online.
'They are crypto-nerds and influencer girls and recent Maha cup students and gays of all stripes, plus your standard-fare Joe Rogan-Listing bross. A few of them would call themselves republican.
