A pub visitor who followed another Punter house after an argument and killed him in his front garden in his front garden, was imprisoned today for at least 18 years.

Valfage Kevin Horswill, 51, used an item of Richard Lane Lane's clothing to strangle him for 30 seconds.

A disturbing audio recording of a neighbor heard Mr Lane Lanehusing screaming 'Get off me, get off me', followed by silence.

Horswill, who himself suffered serious injuries during the brutal attack, including a deep bloodstream eye in his guardian photo, claimed that he had only gone to his victim's house to 'protest with him' and eventually fought for his life.

But a jury, told that he had shouted 'You are a dead man' in the pub, rejected his claim and condemned him for murder yesterday.

Judge Mary Loram KC said Horswill to life with a minimum term of 18 years, said: 'You were full of anger and I did not doubt that you meant every word of your threat that Mr Laney was a dead man …

'You followed him home to confront him and expand your anger. Violence was inevitable. '

The suspect, who was smartly dressed in a navy blue suit with white shirt and tie, showed no emotion when he learned his fate.

Public Prosecutor Andrew Jackson Las fragments of victim impact declarations written by the 52-year-old family members of Mr. Laney.

His wife, Maureen Ainsworth, had a lasting memory of finding Mr. Langley. She wakes up at night '. She had also moved from the house they shared in Thaxted, Essex, since death, which caused financial unrest.

The daughter of Mr Landley, Shelby, said that the 'positivity' in her life 'had evaporated'.

Horswill and his partner Catherine Fox had drunk in the Star Pub in Thaxted for 'a few hours' by the time that Mr. Langley arrived on 17 March last year.

Judge Loram told Chelmsford Crown Court today that the suspect had not known that his “partner had been verbally offensive to Mr Landley and made unpleasant comments about his wife.”

Witnesses heard him threaten his victim and CCTV caught him later after Mr Lane, who went home and took his dog for a walk.

After confronting him in his garden in the early hours of March 18, the men and Horswill were injured by a hammer who used his victim to defend himself.

More CCTV images showed the bloody and bruised murderer who ran away just after the fatal attack.

After Mrs. Ainsworth found her husband on the ground, members of the public gave him resuscitation before paramedics arrived. But they couldn't save him and he was declared dead on the spot.

Horswill was arrested in his house in the early hours of the following morning and was given the hospital treatment before he was accused of murder and in custody.

Public Prosecutor Andrew Jackson opened the two -week process and told Chelmsford Crown Court that the murder was a 'determined and premeditated attack' and allowed the suspect to 'leave his anger'.

Horswill claimed that he 'was afraid that I would be killed' after he would pop up at the house to give Mr Lane Likey a part of His Spirit.

He claimed that his victim pulled him on his property and attacked him with a hammer, making him “seriously injured.”

“I was beaten around the head with a tool while I tried to escape from hands and feet,” he continued.

But the post-mortem investigation showed how his victim was subject to at least '15 seconds of sustainable compression 'before he became' left to that 'and the jury lasted only six hours to condemn him with a 11-1 majority.

After the conviction, the detective -Superintendent Ant Alcock, by the Essex police,: 'Horswill carried out a violent and premeditated attack, encouraged by a fight in a pub just a few hours earlier.

“His argument of self -defense was completely undermined by the case built by our skilled researchers, so that the jury was undoubtedly guilty.”
