Major chocolate recall upgraded to highest risk level amid fears of ‘adverse health consequences or death’

The FDA urgently has upgraded the risk level of some of the products in a chocolate return promotion, warning that the products can cause death.

Cal Yee Farm, a candy company based in Suisun Valley, California in California, insisted on customers in nine states to return some of their chocolate and yogurt covered snacks on December 12, 2024.

The other recalled products are: yogurt coated almonds, pure chocolate raisins, buttertoffee almonds, tropical trail mix, mango with chili, cajun sesame hot sticks, new orleans hot mix, butter toffee almonds and select fruit tires.

The products were sold in 8oz, 1 pound, 2 pounds or 5 pounds – a full list of products has been published by the FDA.

Items are packed in transparent plastic zipper acids with bright yellow labels at the front.

In the warning, the FDA advised consumers to throw away the recalled products or to return to the seller for a full reimbursement. No diseases related to the warning have been reported.

Civil servants warned: “People who have an allergy or serious sensitivity to milk, soy, wheat, sesame, yellow 6 and almonds run the risk of serious or life -threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.”

An urgent recall for Lay's potato chips has also escalated to the highest level for containing non -declared milk.

The FDA revealed that the affected products are bags of 13 Oz Lay's classic potato chips that are distributed in Oregon and Washington.

About 4.9 million Americans suffer from milk allergies and it is one of the most common food allergies in children.

Symptoms of milk allergy vary from mild to serious and squeaking, vomiting, hives and digestive problems can be.
