Richard Madeley today grilled Rachel Reeves during a heated collision on Good Morning Britain about claiming that she deserved her CV 'exaggerated' who nicknamed her 'Rachel from Accounts'.

The host, 68, tore brutally in the Chancellor, 45, while he asked her why she had lied about the time she had worked at the Bank of England.

Because of her career history, Madeley went into a 20 -second Blitz, including roles at the Bank of England, the British embassy in Washington and the Halifax Bank of Scotland.

The Chancellor looked uncomfortable when she was asked why she had not unveiled the true length of her term of office at the Bank of England.

“You said you've worked at the Bank of England for ten years. In fact, it was only six years old, and one of those years was a master course at the London School of Economics. So that is five years and not a decade. '

He continued: 'It was said that you worked as an economist at the Bank of England, the British embassy in Washington and, most recently, the Halifax Bank of Scotland.

'But according to your former colleagues in your actual job, you actually worked in a support department of Scottish Bank, and you helped a little with admin and it and that is what you have earned the nickname of Rachel from accounts.

“Do you have? Have you improved your resume to make yourself look better qualified to be the Chancellor of the Treasury if you have won the elections. '

Stuttering Mrs. Reeves said that she is 'really proud' on the jobs she worked, but the presenter refused to let her avoid the question and asked if her lie about her time at the Bank of England was an 'exaggeration'.

The Chancellor argued that she had worked for the Bank of England for six years, but did not give any further explanation why she had not written that.

Instead, she said: 'I think people want to judge me at work I do today as a chancellor of the treasury. I am qualified to do this work, but people are going to judge me.

'Do I look at the economy? Do I improve their standard of living? I am determined to do exactly that. '

In November, the Chancellor edited her online CV after she admitted that she was not an economist during her time at the Bank of Scotland.

She removed 'Economist' from her LinkedIn profile work experience and changed it to 'Retail Banking' during her time at the bank in 2006-9.

The move led the Tories to accuse her of 'deception' and to burn its 'economic with the truth'.

Her LinkedIn CV – who had previously said that she was an economist at the Bank of Scotland, has now been updated to say that she was in 'Retail Banking', noted the Guido Fawkes -Political website.

It reported earlier that she worked in a support department of the Bank of Scotland that achieved the administration, IT and planning of affairs.

A work source said at the time: 'Mrs. Reeves worked in retail banking on different areas that are based as an economist in her background. Her LinkedIn has been updated to display that. '

The source said that she had held different roles at the bank, but would not clarify her position.

A source of Tory Party told the mail: “It seems that the claims of Rachel Reeves Lerk history are about as accurate as its promises not to levy taxes on working people – based on fraud and increasingly false.”

Shadow Justice Robert Jenrick said: “Reeves said she was an economist. It turns out that she is simply careful with the truth. '

Mrs. Reeves started her career at the Bank of England and worked there between 2000 and 2006, including a secondment in Washington.

She then moved to Leeds to work in front of the Halifax Bank of Scotland shopping arm before she became a member of parliament.

She became known as the 'Copy and Paste Chancellor' after she apologized for plagiarizing other authors in a book that she claimed to have written.

Mrs. Reeves made a lot of her experience as an economist prior to the budget and said that she would not play with public money quickly and separately.
