A family from Virginia van Vier belonged to the victims of the devastating American Airlines -Crash on Wednesday evening in Washington, DC.
The Livingstons, from Ashburn, were on the way home of Wichita, Kansas, after the 11-year-old Alydia and the 14-year-old Everly had participated in the US Figure Skating Championships 2025.
The two sisters died in the horrific crash on flight 5342 next to their father, Peter, and their mother, Donna.
Family friend Kim Urban said CNN that the girls were 'young skaters', and that Donna was active in the girls' life and Peter was an avid hockey player.
“The Livingstons were just – they were just a big personality family. They were loving, they were attentive. Donna and Peter were extraordinary supporting parents, “Urban said.
“They were from parents of parents. They did everything for their children. Alydia and Everly were, such as smart children, very talented skaters and super bubbles. '
Urban said that her own children had skated with the two girls and had been destroyed by the news.
Everly had large skating dreams. In November 2023 she told Fox News: “My goals are to actually be part of Team USA and travel the whole world.”

The girls posted a heartbreaking last message on their shared Instagram account in the Intrust Bank Arena, which organized the 2025 championships.

Another family friend, Cassandra Atkins, said she had designed several of the girls' skating outfits.
“Donna was just like the most perfect mother,” Atkins told WFLA. “She was really … [T]Snake girls were everything for her, the center of her entire universe. '
Atkins said the girls on the ice wanted to stand out and chose better colors than usually picked by other girls their age.
“They just loved skating so much. When they didn't skate, they were rollers skating, or had wheels on their boots. They could always find a way. '
Donna and Peter showed the successes of their daughter at the championships and shared many photos of the girls on and next to the ice.

The family went out for a family vacation to Disney World and Universal Studios at the end of December shortly before he went to the Championships in Kansas.
The Livingstons belonged to the 67 people who were killed in the collision between the flight of the American Airlines and a Black Hawk helicopter of the US Army.
At least 28 bodies, including three soldiers who were on the helicopter, were drawn from the icy waters of the Potomac River while the recovery operations continued on Friday morning.
Of the 60 passengers on board the flight, 14 figure skaters, including six members of the Boston Skating Club, were next to parents and coaches.
NBC broadcasters and former figure skaters Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski both sought the 2025 European Figure Skating Championships in Tallinn, Estland on Thursday when they tackle the incident.
A choked Weir started with the broadcast: 'While we are coming into the broadcast for the European Figure Skating Championships, we all hurt today. We were absolutely deeply saddened by the news that different members of our skating community were one of the lost in the tragic plane crash in Washington, last night. '
Weir then proceeded to read statements from the American figure skating, the International Skating Union and a word from President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach.
NBC broadcasters Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir both broke in the air while they read a tribute to the victims while covering the European skating championships
Lipinski then spoke through Snikken and called the situation 'unimaginable'.
'My heart is completely broken for our skating community, their families and loved ones. My heart is with all the affected families and that is the part I have no words for.
“It won't do justice,” she said, adding that the “skating community will never be the same again,” but the victims will always be remembered.
Weir added that they were determined 'to ensure that everyone's spirit lives' and that it was 'a huge loss that our community feels'.
“Today my whole heart was struck by this terrible tragedy,” he said. “We are so destroyed for your loss.”
During the event, a long moment of silence was held in memory of those who lost their lives.
