A man from Delaware who lost his figure skating son and wife at the catastrophic aircraft crash in Washington DC revealed that the horrifying moment that he realized was that something was wrong.
Child ice skater Sean Kay, 11, and his mother Julia Kay, 42, were on board the Fatal American Airlines flight that collided on Wednesday evening with an army Black Hawk.
Vitali Kay – the father of Sean and the husband of Julia – broke his silence after the complicated tragedy.
“The plane had to be at nine countries, and I called my wife and she didn't pick up,” Vitali told CBS heartbreaking.
“I thought it might be in aircraft mode and she forgot to eliminate it.”
There was something wrong that something was wrong, Vitali said that he hurried to Reagan National Airport. Upon arrival, a police officer let him go through the blocked road to speak with airport officials.
“Everyone was sincerely worried,” said the mourning father. “They felt deeply in front of you, they understood what people could feel who has loved one on the plane.”

The children of Julia and Vitali, from seven to 14 years old, were all skaters, made according to a GoFundme to maintain the family during this challenging time.
“I had to deliver the news to them, and that was the expression I used:” Hey, Julia would want you to do this, skate, “he told CBS.
Vitali revealed that he met his wife at the university and described her as loving and energetic. He said Sean liked to play the guitar and was in love with roller coasters.
The organizers of the fundraising page said that Sean – who also went through Ilya – had a bright future.
“Ilya was one of the best ice dancers in the country for his age and dreamed of reaching the Olympic team,” is the page.
They said that Julia was 'an incredible mother who lived for her children' and made large sacrifices for them.
