She appeared twice in the briefing room last week and has retained a steady stream of TV performances.
The result has a whole series of newspaper heads that complain that Donald Trump floods the media with news, making it difficult for fact checkers and opponents to hit back.
Leavitt says that there is only one reason for the quick pace in the Press Shop of the White House.
“I think the most important driver is the wish of the president for so much time in such a short time,” she tells DailyMail.com in her West Wing office while she thinks about a busy week in the spotlight.
He told his transition team that he was planning to sign as much as possible, as fast as he could, further, to show that he would keep his campaign blows.
“And so we have done a lot,” she says without the least hint of an apology. “I think it is very difficult for the old media, especially the cable news, to keep track of everything.”

It was all delivered with the kind of pleasant smile that suggested that she was the matron of a house for the demented and the weak, welcomes the prisoners in a tea party.
Yet even the New York Times led a backhanded compliment and described her in his head as 'steel -like and irreconcilable'.
And CNN's fact checker called her a 'spinmeister', as if press secretaries have not avoided difficult questions or have massaged the facts over the centuries.
Another nickname arrived a day later, during a Testy exchange with Good Morning America -Gastheer Michael Strahan.
He investigated her about plans to force employees of the federal government back in their offices.
“Is there any concern that we run the risk of losing people with years of experience such as doctors and say, scientists?” he asked.
Leavitt shot back: “Well, most doctors who work in actual hospitals and medical institutions must appear in the office.”
It was a clear victory for the youngest press secretary in history. Her supporters celebrated the victory online and called her the 'Fake News Grim Reaper'.
Video of the exchange went viral on social media and quickly earned more than three million views.
On Friday she was back in the briefing room to send journalists home with a set of headlines. It is all part of a cadence that will see her three times a week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday before the media, unless the president does his own press conference.
