A teenage girl was killed in suspected shark attack off the coast of Southeast Queensland.
Emergency services were called to Woorim Beach on Bribie Island at around 4.45 pm on Monday after reports of a 'serious shark bite incident'.
It is understood that the teenager, 17, was attacked while swimming of 100m offshore on the southeastern end of the island.
She suffered 'catastrophic' injuries on her upper arm and body and could not be revived on the spot.
The kind of sharks is currently unknown.

A desperate girl was comforted.
The tragedy comes after several shark observations in the area in recent weeks, according to lifeguards.
Woorim is a popular destination among campers, 4WD enthusiasts and surfers such as the nearest surf beach north of Brisbane.
It comes weeks after the youth pastor Luke Walford was killed in a shark attack on Humpy Island Shark near Rockhampton off the coast of Central Queensland.
The police will prepare a report for the coroner.
