Fashion’s biggest night of the year was back last night, as the Grammy Awards returned to LA for 2025.
Stars including Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Beyonce and Miley Cyrus brought their usual glitz and glamour A-game to the Crypto.com Arena for the 67th awards, shining in their bold – and often outrageous – looks.
But it was the hidden details in their looks that provided the most memorable moments of the evening, but some of them were difficult to spot.
Though Taylor’s sizzling red number immediately caught the eye, a subtle chain embellished with a ‘T’ initial’ provided one of the event’s most talked about moments, as many suspected it was a nod to her absent boyfriend Travis Kelce.
Meanwhile Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan and even Jaden Smith – who wore a bizarre house on his head – made subtle references with their outfits which were not immediately obvious.
Others kept their most striking choices to the smallest details in their outfits, with Cynthia Erivo and Julia Fox making bold claims with their choices of nails and gloves.
Here, FEMAIL reveals all the hidden fashion details that Hollywood’s A-listers kept under wraps at the Grammy Awards – and takes a closer look at what they all mean.
Taylor Swift

Taylor is known for sharing hidden messages in her outfits, often giving fans a hidden clue about upcoming album releases.
At last year’s Grammys event, Taylor stunned in a monochrome The Tortured Poets Department – minutes before announcing the new album release in her award acceptance speech.
And this year appeared no different, as fans were quick to spot a subtle detail hidden amongst her stunning red number.
The sizzling red Vivienne Westwood dress meant that a jewelled ‘T’ was easy to miss.
A chain draped over her left thigh that featured a jeweled red ‘T,’ possibly representing her 35-year-old boyfriend, who previously revealed that he wouldn’t be able to attend Sunday’s ceremony.
The eye-catching ensemble also seemed to pay tribute to the NFL tight end’s team, the Kansas City Chiefs, as it was done up in a similar shade to the team’s red color scheme.

Travis revealed last week that he will not be attending the Grammys as he focuses on practice with the Kansas City Chiefs ahead of their Super Bowl showdown with the Philadelphia Eagles; seen together on January 26 in Kansas City, Missouri
Though the T could potential stand for either Taylor or Travis, ecstatic Swifties quickly used her song lyrics as ‘proof’ it refers to her football-playing boyfriend.
In ‘Guilty as Sin?’, a track from The Tortured Poets Department, Taylor sings ‘what if he’s written “mine” on my upper thigh’ – seeming to signal a shoutout to Travis.
The shade of her dress also led to much discussion, with many making comparisons to the gown she wore at the 2009 VMAs when Kanye West took to the stage in an outburst, declaring Beyoncé should have won instead.
As well as Taylor hitting back at West, others thought the red shade could represent a ‘curtain closing’ on her The Tortured Poets Department era, perhaps signalling at a new release.
One fan wrote on X, formerly Twitter: ‘WHAT IF she wearing red because it’s the end of the ttpd era (mimicking a curtain closing at the end of a play).’
Sabrina Carpenter
Sabrina, 25, appeared to be channeling Marilyn Monroe and Cinderella – and one more comparison that was less obvious
Sabrina Carpenter, who has shot to fame over the past year thanks to her hit Espresso, world tour and album Short And Sweet, was certainly keen to make an impression at the Grammys.
Sabrina, 25, appeared to be channeling Marilyn Monroe and Cinderella, later performing at the awards for the first time with a stunning mashup of her hits Please Please Please and Espresso.
Sabrina opened her performance as she descended an ornate staircase in a sequence that recalled Marilyn Monroe’s iconic performance of Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, in which she also descends a red-carpet staircase while surrounded by male suitors.
She channeled Cinderella in her baby blue JW Anderson gown in a classical old money style.

However, eagle-eyed fans quickly noticed that her stunning pearl and diamond necklace – which she wore backwards – also appeared to make reference to a classic film.
The plunging necklace added a sparkling touch to the look, ending at the bottom of her back.
Many noticed that Sabrina’s look bore a striking resemblance to Shirley MacClaine from the 1964 comedy What A Way To Go!
The moment has since become renowned for its lavish look, which reportedly featured around $3.5million in jewels, and is seen as an importance reference point for vintage fashion.
One fan wrote on X, formerly Twitter: ‘THIS REFERENCE? SABRINA CARPENTER IS THAT GIRL.’
Chappell Roan

Chappell Roan turned heads with her bold look, consisting of a graphic dress and statement makeup.
She wore vintage Jean Paul Gaultier from the 2003 couture runway collection.
The busy dress nearly had too many details to focus on , with a voluminous canary-yellow skirt and baby blue accents, along with matching sheer blue gloves that reached to her upper arms.
However, when fans took a closer look, it became apparent it featured prints of dancers and women in ballgowns inspired by the paintings of Edgar Degas.
The singer–songwriter wore a burgundy shade of lipstick and added enormous false eyelashes for a cartoonish touch.
She wore her crimson hair in long curls draped down her back, and she topped it off with a feathered headdress of white, yellow and blue feathers.
Later on Chappell appeared to wear a medieval hat before picking up her awards
Chappell completed her ensemble with tall yellow, blue and black boots for a punky touch.
The vintage look was darkened up with long black satin bows for straps, and Chappell had an extra bit of blue tulle wrapped around her throat like a scarf.
Later on, Chappell pad homage to her Missouri roots, giving her debut Grammys performance with an electrifying rendition of her hit Pink Pony Club.
Chappell, 26, had a far more relaxed appearance on the red carpet compared to her infamous appearance at the MTV VMAs in October of last year, when she confronted a photographer.
At the time, she called out the photographer for allegedly being ‘so disrespectful’ and ‘rude’ to her at an afterparty for the 2024 Grammy Awards.
Cynthia Erivo
Cynthia Erivo showed off a fresh manicure set at the awards with blinging jewels
The Wicked star is known and loved for her super length nails and she made sure the dramatic additions brought all the drama at the Grammy Awards.
The 38-year-old British star who starred as Elphaba opposite Ariana Grande’s Glinda in the Box Office smash hit, showed off a fresh manicure set with blinging jewels and and diamantes.
Though Cynthia is rarely seen without the accessory, it appears today’s design was prepped to deliver hidden messages to watchers.
The white, black and navy blue-coloured patent nails were a key feature in a viral moment between the star and popstar darling Taylor Swift.
Last year’s album of the year recipient was seen holding onto the tip of the Wicked star’s nail, just like Ariana Grande did during the press tour for their blockbuster Wizard of Oz origin story.
At the time it happened, the pair were in an interview, where Cynthia was told ‘people are taking the lyrics of Defying Gravity and really holding space with that, and feeling power in that’.
Cynthia was surprised by this fact and put her hand on her chest before saying, ‘I didn’t know that was happening. That’s really powerful – that’s what I wanted’.

Cynthia and Taylor appeared to recreate the viral ‘holding space’ interview
She then looked meaningfully at Ariana, who reached over and held Cynthia’s finger, seemingly for support.
The two superstars who were seated next to each other at the annual awards seemed to recreate the touching moment.
The extravagant nails were also the perfect background for an even greater accessory.
Cynthia and her producer partner Lena Waithe had fans on the edge of their seats when they sparked a round of engagement rumours by the appearance of an enormous diamond ring
Accompanying the bling was a second diamond-covered infinity ring that got fans chatting.
Lena, 40, upped the stakes by wearing what appeared to be a simple gold band, setting off rumors that the lovebirds might have even gotten married.
Cynthia may have hinted at the engagement by putting her rings on display when she walked the red carpet before the ceremony started.
Julia Fox
Kanye West’s ex Julia Fox appeared to be wearing a pair of rubber washing up gloves
Julia Fox – who briefly dated Kanye West in 2022 – rocked a sizzling sheer black top and mini skirt, along with matching stockings.
She risked an awkward run-in with the rapper, 47, and his wife Bianca Censori, 30, at music’s biggest night, before the pair were escorted out of the Grammys by police after Bianca’s naked red carpet stunt shocked the world.
The mother-of-one sported platinum blonde tresses underneath a black mesh cap. She wore smoky eye makeup and dark lipstick, adding drama to her features.
But in a bizarre contrast to her racy outfit, Julia appeared to be wearing a pair of yellow kitchen gloves – remarkably similar to those you would use to do the washing up.
She paired the gloves with a matching thong and bra, as well as white cuffs.
Meanwhile Bianca, who has previously shocked with her risque displays, bared it all in a completely see-through nude mesh dress, worn without underwear – much to the shock of social media and onlookers.
Bianca exuded confidence as she headed to the carpet clad in a furry coat, before theatrically dropping the garment and flashing her bare derriere to photographers.

She turned around to show off her topless chest and lack of underwear while West – nominated in the Best Rap Song category – leered at her nude body during the incident of indecent exposure.
However, it has now been revealed the pair were asked to leave the event after turning up uninvited, and escorted out by cops after their ‘crazy stunt.’
A DailyMail.com insider confirmed the pair were asked to leave shortly after their arrival.
Music industry insiders were also questioning if West’s swift exit was down to his feud with Taylor Swift.
He now only follows Swift, 35, on Instagram, 16 years after a feud erupted between the pair when he stormed the stage during her VMAs speech.
An insider added to Page Six the pair were ushered out after ‘the crazy outfit moment they pulled on the carpet’ which ‘was an attempt to replicate the album cover of Vultures.’
DailyMail.com has contacted representatives for comment.
Jaden Smith
Jaden Smith turned heads by wearing a giant black palace on his head. Pictured with his sister, Willow
American rapper and actor Jaden Smith – who is son of Will and Jada – styled himself for the evening in a Louis Vuitton suit.
However, it was the giant black palace on his head that caught people’s attention.
Jaden, 26, was roasted by fans after wearing a very unique look at LA’s Crypto.com Arena on Sunday.
He arrived on the red carpet wearing an all-black, structured suit complete with the elaborate black hat shaped like a castle covering his head.
He paired the look off with a pair of black sneakers with white detailing, black tie and white heart pinned onto the lapel of his jacket.
Fans quickly took to social media, with many joking the hat reminded them of a ‘Haunted Minecraft building.’
Another fan joked he looked like a ‘Minecraft character.’
‘When you’re a homebody but there’s an awards show to attend…’ someone else chimed in.

However, there was more to the look than initially met the eye.
The gigantic house was created by ABODI and is called the ‘vampire castle’ – reportedly retailing for 4,500 euros.
‘The artistic headpiece combines the mysterious elegance of ABODI Transylvania with a bold, modern design inspired by Transylvanian history and the vampire legends of the Bathori’, the brand wrote on Instagram.
It also appeared to be a nod to Willem Dafoe’s photoshoot for his GQ Man Of The Year Shoot in 2023 – when he also bizarrely wore a house on the top of his head.
Willow Smith

Fans surely did a double take when Willow Smith stepped onto the Grammy’s red carpet in a barely-there ensemble.
The 24-year-old daughter of Will Smith made jaws drop in a bedazzled bra and matching tiny bottom, with a black maxi blazer that showed off her slender figure and endless legs.
She oozed showbiz glamour at the star-studded bash and accessorized with various gold rings and dazzling platform heels.
With her stunning natural locks let loose, it’s possible the songstress chose the racy outfit to coincide with the night her ‘dreams’ were finally made true.
Today’s ceremony saw Willow celebrating her first Grammy award nominations in the categories Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical for her record Empathogen and Best Arrangement, Instruments and Vocals for her track Big Feelings.

Catching up with Billboard on the red carpet, Willow called her two nominations were a ‘dream come true.’
‘I am just overflowing with gratitude, the overwhelming feeling just comes from a feeling of being honored to be alongside all these amazing musicians,’ she expressed.
‘The fact that I was voted in this, is just a dream come true. This is all I’ve ever wanted… and to be recognized just makes my heart [exploding motion]’.
The usual tomboy stepped up her fashion game in McQueen Autumn Winter 2024 perhaps as a message to critics and watchers that her career and style were to be taken notice of.
Her and her brother Jaden, 26, who wore a ‘Vampire Castle’ sculptural headpiece and Louis Vuitton tuxedo, attended in support of their father and this year’s Grammy host, Will Smith.
Gracie Abrams
Gracie Abrams donned a stunning Chanel gown – which gave a bridal-esque impression
Gracie Abrams was a dream in a stunning bridal-esque look at the 2025 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles.
The 25-year-old singer modeled a white off-the-shoulder Chanel gown with elegant rouching and a floral accent. To compliment the wedding vibe, she accessorised with a sheer veil over her brunette locks.
Unlike many other stars on our list, the apparent message behind the ensemble is not so much hidden but rather screams out to onlookers – especially one particular person.
Her ethereal appearance comes amid split rumors from boyfriend Paul Mescal, who was missing from her side after the singer publicly wept and stormed away from the actor during a tense dinner.
Lat month the Gladiator star was spotted in a popular North London restaurant ‘head in hands’ as his American pop star girlfriend sat across from him ‘in fits of tears’ before she stormed out.

The Irish-born A-lister, 28 and the singer were eating out at the trendy bakery-come-restaurant, Jolene, in Newington Green before their night unravelled.
An onlooker told MailOnline: ‘They were sat at a table opposite each other and Paul had his head in his hands as Gracie just sat there crying’.
However The I Love You, I’m Sorry singer – who was an opener for Taylor Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour – seemed in good spirits while strutting the red carpet in the extravagant gown.
Her look appeared to speak directly to her former flame and signaled that she had intended for the pair to walk down the aisle together, or that maybe she was finally ready to move on and commit to someone else.
Jacob Collier

British singer Jacob Collier, 30, was one of many celebrities sporting a blue heart pin at the event.
He was wearing a light blue heart pin embossed with a music note on his lapel like other attendees – aim to bring attention to the MusiCares Fire Relief fund.
‘I don’t think there’s ever been a more important time for music than right now. It has alchemic properties and can cut through all the defenses we have as people to heal us in a very specific way,’ Collier told Variety on the red carpet.
‘I’m so proud and honored to be here at the Grammys. The Grammys have never stood for more to pivot to support the people in need right now with these crazy fires. It’s a really inspiring thing to witness.’
The Recording Academy and MusiCares recently created the Los Angeles Fire Relief Effort to fundraise for those in the music industry who have been impacted by the fires.
Other celebrities pictured wearing the badges included Brittany Howard, Green Day’s Mike Dirnt and Jaden Smith.
30-year-old Londoner Jacob Collier, but the artist – who has been dubbed ‘the Mozart of Gen Z’ – will likely have appeared in some of your favourite tunes from A-listers like Coldplay, Alicia Keys and SZA.
He has also worked with British powerhouses Stormzy, and last December performed a version of Last Christmas at the Princess of Wales’s Carol concert.
His latest album, Djesse Vol 4, came out in February, and is now competing among the ranks of Cowboy Carter, The Tortured Poets Department and Short ‘n’ Sweet.
