The mother of Ellen Greenberg has warned the police that she will 'look' after the case of her daughter had finally reopened for more than a decade after researchers had decided her death a suicide.

Greenberg, 27, was found dead on the kitchen floor of her apartment in Philadelphia in the middle of a snowstorm on January 26, 2011.

The police quickly ruled her death a suicide, despite the fact that Greenberg was discovered with more than 20 stab wounds and a 10-inch knife still dived into her heart.

On Monday, the case was dramatically reopened after the medical investigator had taken back his earlier conclusion that she had died through suicide.

The city of Philadelphia and Greenberg's family established two civil court cases on condition that the cause of death would be revised.

Greenberg's mother Sandee Greenberg expressed her joy about the decision, but had a number of grim words for civil servants.

“The truth will prevail, the truth will free you and we will look,” she told Brian Entin of NewsNation.

“I want the city to make up for their promises, because they have not done that in the past and have to clean the house a little.”

Sandee explained that although they could not discuss the settlement, she hopes that the investigation will lead to a change on the death certificate of Greenberg.

She believes that there is “no doubt” that the death of her daughter must be ruled.

“We have to hope that they do the right thing with all eyes and they will change the death certificate,” she said.

“There are other things in the works that will hopefully continue to prevail and more justice will be served.”

Sandee and Ellen's father Josh have been involved in a long -term legal battle with city officials in the last five years.

The grieving mother said they have succeeded in continuing by 'placing one foot for the other'.

“I think the city had not expected to deal with Ellen's parents that they did not expect to persist and not give up,” she said.

'We have not tolerated their persistent tactics, their deprived information and their untruths.

'People look, people are interested because this is a case of our daughter Ellen Rae Greenberg, but it can be your daughter or your sister or your aunt or your cousin.

“Everyone knows someone who needs justice and so we will continue.”

Former assistant Philadelphia Medical Examiner Marlon Osbourne initially ruled the death of Greenberg as a murder, but changed it to suicide after a meeting with the police and prosecutors.

Osbourne has since admitted in a sworn statement that he should not have ruled Greenberg's death.

“It is my professional opinion that Ellen's way of death should be referred to as something other than suicide,” Dr. Osbourne in the submission.

Osbourne said that the determination was taken after he became aware of new information that questioned the first statement.

'For example, whether Ellen's fiancé was seen who entered the apartment before he placed the 9-1-1 call on January 26, 2011; whether the door was open as reported; And if Ellen's body was moved by someone else in the apartment with her on or near the time of her death, “Osbourne wrote.

Over the past decade, Josh and Sandee Greenberg, Ellen's parents, have tried to turn the statement into murder and have filed two civil lawsuits against the city of Philadelphia

A civil lawsuit filed by Ellen's parents accused the city of Philadelphia of the false labeling of their daughters who put death a suicide as a way to hide a failed murder investigation.

A judge ruled on Friday that their emotional necessity against the city can be officially tried.

The new statement also recommends that medical examiners Osbourne and Sam Gulino and murder detective John McNamee have to testify because they have all participated in orchestrating the alleged cover-up.

On January 6, 2011, Ellen Dood was found by her fiancé in the kitchen of her apartment on Flat Rock Road.

The first teacher had sustained 10 stab wounds in her neck and the back of the head, and 10 on her belly, belly and chest and a 10-inch knife still dived into her heart.

The knife went through her chest and pierced her liver, cut her aorta and set the Dura Mater, the membrane around her spine.

Another wound was more than three centimeters deep, near the base of her skull, and caused a bleeding blow.

Samuel Goldberg, Ellen's fiancé, called 911 and said he found her in a puddle of blood after he had forced himself his way into the apartment if she did not answer.

Because the door of the apartment was locked up from the inside and her fiancé – who claimed to have broken off the door – had no defensive wounds, the police determined her death as suicide.
