The police who are looking for a man who is thought to be murdered after attending a street festival for the king's coronation has discovered human remains.
Stefan Watkins, 48, was last seen and left his house in Warwick on 6 May 2023 during a street party to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III.
The Warwickshire police had believed that this was his last known location until it received reports that Stefan was seen on 7 May in an area of Hillfields, Coventry.
Specially trained officers started looking for the area last week, slightly less than two years after his disappearance.
Today's power revealed that non -created human remains were discovered on Saturday in an area near Charterhouse Fields in Coventry.
They have been restored forensic and will be subject to a post-mortem in due course.
Investigators believed that Stefan was killed shortly after leaving the party and a reward of £ 20,000 criminal toppers was offered last summer to find his body.
A 45-year-old woman from Warwick was arrested last year on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and was saved in anticipation of further questions.

A police spokesperson said: 'Specially trained officers who are looking for Stefan Watkins have found remains in an area of Coventry.
'The human remains, which were discovered in Charterhouse Fields on Saturday afternoon, have been restored forensic and will be subject to a post-mortem in due course.
“Formal identification still has to take place, but we have updated Stefan's relatives and family with this latest development.”
The power previously indicated a CCTV appeal that shows what his last moments would be at the street party while talking to neighbors.
Stefan – also known as 'Lee' and 'Lee Lee' – was described as white, about 6ft long with blue eyes and very short hair.
On Friday before the grim find, the detective inspector Gareth Unett said: 'We continue to work to find Stefan and remain open in mind about what happened to him.
“Unfortunately, our most important line of research is that he might have gone angry and we would help all the information that could help us find him and bring some conclusion for his family and friends.”
Alan Edwards, regional manager of West Midlands at Crimestoppers, said at the time: 'We really hope that Stefan lives and is good.
“We know, however, that it is very possible that he might have gone angry.”
