The Senate has voted to confirm Pam Bondi as the next attorney general.
Her confirmation spent the room led by the Republicans with a dual mood 54 – 46.
Senator John Fetterman (D-Pa.) Was the only Democrat who voted to her advantage.
The former two-time attorney general of Florida will now lead the Ministry of Justice, which supervises no fewer than 115,000 employees.
The DOJ is responsible for critical departments such as the FBI, Bureau for Alcohol, Tobacco, firearms and explosives (ATF) and, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
Bondi will get into the role for the FBI in a tumultuous time after 5,000 employees who worked on 6 January can be fired.
Although legislators did not argue about her bona fide for the role.
'She spent almost 30 years as a criminal public prosecutor and then as an attorney general. She has more trial experience than every modern American attorney general, “Republican whip John Barrasso said on Tuesday on the Senate floor.
'Attorney General Bondi is the most experienced career criminal public prosecutor ever to be the most important law enforcement officer in America. She is ready to lead on the first day. '

Senate -judicial chairman Chuck Grassley posted on X: 'The confirmation of Pam Bondi is a victory for the rule of law and a promise that safer days are ahead of them. Mrs Bondi is a public prosecutor who has devoted her professional career to the pursuit of justice. '
“Under the leadership of Mrs Bondi, I look forward to seeing improved responsibility at the Doj and an improved response to the congress and the American people,” he continued.
Bondi has promised to again coordinate the Ministry of Justice with its core missions, to put an end to the armament of the legal system, to give priority to law enforcement and to tackle the 'overwhelming crisis on the border'.
Bondi, 59, fought with Democrats during her ties with Donald Trump during her confirmation hearing in January, where she repeatedly raised questions about the 2020 election results.
But many Democrats wondered if she could act with independence in the role.
“We need an attorney general who knows that their duty is for the people – not the president. That person is not a Pam Bondi, 'Senator Adam Schiff posted on X before the confirmation vote.
Bondi has previously helped the president with legal work during his first accusation process and is seen on a large scale as a Trump loyalist.
“If confirmed, I will work to restore the trust and integrity of the Ministry of Justice-and each of its components,” said Bondi during her confirmation hearing in mid-January.
'Under my watch, the part -time armament of the Ministry of Justice will end. America must have one level of justice for everyone. '

“Politics will not play part” when deciding who is being investigated, she confirmed.
During the hearing, many of the questions of the Democrats were intended to test how Bondi would act independently of Trump when she took office.
Sen. Chris Coons (D-del.) Ask if Donald Trump was able to run again in 2028 that the Republican would not do that.
“No, senator, not unless they change the Constitution,” Bondi said, clearly aware that the 22nd amendment chairman limits that the chairman serves more than two installments.
Bondi also shared her vision of the role, including her top priority, which she says it is the restoration of a laminated legal system.

Originally Nominated Trump former Rep. Matt Gaetz as an attorney general, although his selection was chased with scandals about his past.
During the trial it came to light through a report from a house Ethics Committee that Gaetz was sexually involved in a minor when he was a congress member. The revelation effectively refueled its opportunities.
