The survivors of Grenfell Fire reacted with anger yesterday after the government decided to demolish the burnt -out tower.

Families whose family members were killed up to the 72 in the Blaze of June 2017 accused officials of ignoring their wishes, and noticed the decision as 'shameful and unforgivable'.

Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner met families and survivors on Wednesday, prior to a planned announcement of the demolition today. A spokesperson for Grenfell United said that Mrs. Rayner refused to confirm how many people and survivors were spoken during the four -week consultation.

He added: “Ignoring the voices of the relatives about the future of the grave of our loved ones is shameful and unforgivable.”

But others have argued that it is and must only be removed a reminder of the tragedy.

A government spokesperson said that Mrs. Rayner had been in the Grenfell community since her appointment and 'considered expert information on health and safety, mental health and well -being'.

Sir Keir Starmer said his thoughts were among the victims. He visited the tower last year and spoke with families and said, “We must always have the victims in this terrible, terrible tragedy in our minds.”

Survivor Emma O'Connor, who lived on the 20th floor, told Radio 4's Today's program: 'We understand that it is unsafe, but if it is out of sight, it will certainly be for those responsible for the tragic kill. ' She said that during the meeting with Mrs. Rayner, survivors and family members were told: “I have made this decision, I will now make questions,” without any explanation about how the decision was made.

A spokesperson for the Kin spokesperson for Grenfell said that a family member on Mrs. Rayner said, “I just had pieces of bone to bury my mother … That's where her soul is.”

The public investigation into the disaster found failures of the government and industry, and chairman Sir Martin Moore-Bick hit the 'unfairness' of companies that produced and sold the flammable upholstery.

Families have called for criminal prosecution against those involved in the investigation, but have said the police and prosecutors that no decision will be made until the end of next year.
