Greens caught out for making up a fictional attack ad against their own party

The Greens are caught coming up with a fictional attack advertisement against their own party in an offer for donations.

Elizabeth Watson-Brown, Greens MP for Ryan, Queensland, posted the Doctored AD on social media on Tuesday.

It showed a threatening green gnome side with the words: “The greens come to get you”.

The photo portrayed the advertisement plastered on a political advertising truck parked outside the Taringa office of Mrs. Watson-Brown.

“Do you know who finances attack advertisements on the Greens?” She wrote in the corresponding post.

“It turns out to be the very legal groups with narrow ties with billionaires, coal and gas companies and the liberal party to stop the greens and me.”

She recorded a link for donations to her campaign and insisted on her followers to 'please call in to my Fightback Fund'.

But the attack advertisement in the post did not exist.

A customer took out advertisements with a truck owned by SST advertisements parked outside the office of Mrs. Watson-Brown, but the company has confirmed that the Green Goblin advertisement was of the greens's own.

Instead, the truck contained the words: “The Greens will burden your inheritance” and “The Greens will increase immigration in a home crisis.”

The followers of Mrs. Watson-Brown, however, seemed to take the Goblin advertisement seriously.

'Much says that these false scary campaigns are the best that these groups can come up with. Vote Greens, “they wrote.

Larissa Waters, Greens Senator for Queensland, also shared the fake advertisement earlier this week and received supporting comments.

“That's what conservatives do. Everyone attacks on the left, “they said.

The party was not apologetic when he was asked for the image on Thursday.

“It is absolutely true that the billionaire lobby groups attack the Greens because they know that we have to tax billionaires to finance things as a dental engineer in Medicare,” a spokesperson for Greens told the Courier Mail.

“If these front groups of the liberal party are really worried that our spoofs inspired by Gremlin can be seen for their real advertisements, it shows how stupid their advertisements are.”
