Pierce left the house only a few weeks later and finally left the Detroit house on November 6 and traveled to Cobb County, Georgia, where she lived with her child in apparent homelessness.

A breakthrough in the case came in December days before Christmas when the police in Brookhaven, Georgia, initiated a non -related investigation into the younger son of Pierce.

During the investigation, the authorities made contact with the police of Detroit and made a series of events that eventually led to the mother's arrest.

Pierce was arrested in Georgia last month on January 10 and is now confronted with extradition to Michigan.

“I have often stood on this stage many times and spoke about how horrible, tragic and shockingly certain cases are, every time there can be future alleged facts that can be worse than what I am talking about at the time,” said WORTHY.

'This is one of the most callous and horrible cases I have ever encountered. Every time I think I have seen the worst, another case like this comes to the fore. Well, that day came again.

'I have long been the public prosecutor and I often say that I have seen it all. The horrors of this case for child abuse defy that. The alleged actions of this suspect are among the most callous I have seen and hope to never see again. '
