A family cat in a picturesque village of Northamptonshire has been traumatized after reporting the target of a fireworks attack by a local parish councilor.
The shocking incident, recorded on video, shows that the cat is blasted after he has stepped in a birdhouse decorated with explosives.
The attack is supposed to have been carried out by councilor James Garnor and is one of the at least two of such events that took place in the village of Whittlebury.
It has been reported that Mr Garnor used devices on remote -controlled devices to explode explosives on the animals.
The police were warned in October 2023 when a local resident filed a complaint about the attack of April 2023.
While Garnor received a voluntary interview and received visual material from the incident of 9 April, the authorities finally decided that there was insufficient evidence to reduce the criminal charges. Instead, he was tackled under legislation on antisocial behavior.
Nikki, the owner of the attacked cat, Suki, has talked about the disturbing effect that the attack on the animal has incurred visible injuries such as sung whiskers.
She said to LBC: 'She was a nice cat. She would sit down for hours, hug and play and float her head over you. If you wanted a hug, she was there – she was like a scarf around your neck.
'Now she rarely comes close to you, and when she does, she has her claws out – she hisses, she growls.

Nikki received a video with the attack, which shows that Suki is approaching the birdhouse and is stunned by a flash of light before he sprints away as quickly as possible.
The motivation for the explosions remains unclear, but some in the village believe that Garnor acted at the request of a neighbor to display cats to steal food intended for birds.
Mr Garnor was approached for comment.
Opinions in the village are divided. Some locals, who notice the disruption caused by cats in the area, claim that Mr Garnor should not be punished overly, especially because no serious damage has been caused to the animals.

A woman even claimed that the case was 'blown out of proportion'.
Still others, including the local resident Amelia, insist that the actions of Garnor were completely irresponsible, especially given his position as a local councilor.
“He is supposed to give an example,” she said, “it's clear from the images that this was no coincidence. He was waiting there with the igniter and the cat was deliberately lured to the birdhouse. '
Whittlebury Parish Council and the police of Northamptonshire were approached for comment.
