A USAID employee who managed to survive widespread cuts through Doge has described the horror who shot their colleagues.

The remaining USAID staff comprises employees who specialize in health and humanitarian aid, the New York Times reported.
When the original 300 number was driven, the staff of the agency had pushed to keep more people on board, referring to a critical life -saving humanitarian work.
Senior staff submitted a list of around 600 people at leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and called their work essential and said it could not be disturbed.
State Secretary Marco Rubio also approved the list of employees who stay.
But about 800 prizes and contracts that are managed through the desk are canceled.

Earlier this week, the administration gave the staff for 30 days, from Friday, to return to the US, where the government paid for their travel and relocation costs.
Employees who choose to stay longer, unless they have received a specific exemption from hardships may have to cover their own costs.
Two trade unions representing USAID employees on Thursday brought a lawsuit on the cutbacks against Trump, Rubio and Minister of Treasury Scott Bessent, the Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Finance.
Robin Thurston, the legal director of Democracy Forward, one of the two interest groups that have brought the lawsuit, said: “What we see is an illegal seizure of this agency by the Trump government in a clear violation of basic constrictional principles.”
The lawsuit argues that only the congress can dissolve the agency and call the actions of the Trump government unconstitutional and illegal '. Rubio has defended the government's actions.

During a joint press conference with the president of the Dominican Republic on Thursday, he said this was the only option.

USAID supervises projects such as food aid, disaster relief and health programs in more than 100 countries with a budget of around $ 40 billion.
Much of the help that the agency buys is from American companies.
In 2020, the office bought $ 2.1 billion in food aid from American farmers. Smaller companies with specialties such as global health care can go bankrupt.
